Trustees present- Bird, Cordingly, Fritz, Murray, Addis. Minutes of regular meeting of Oct. 2, 1928, read and approved. The following bills, audited by the Finance Committee, presented: L. S. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. .Communication from L. S. Everts & Co. with recommendations regarding records kept by the Police Department and Recorder was read and ordered filed. ,Communication from California Eastern Oil Company of Los Angeles regarding securing a lease for wharf at National City was read and ordered filed. ✓RESOLUTION NO. 1344, Endorsing Amendment No. 4 to be voted on at State election in November regarding the establishment of state parks, etc., was read. Moved by Murray, seconded by Fritz, 229. that the Resolution be adopted. Carried by the following vote: Ayes, Trustees Bird, Fritz, Murray, Addis. Nay, Trustee Cordingly. ,Communication from National City Chamber of Commerce regard- ing appropriation of $250.00 for advertising purposes was read and ordered filed. .Communication from Herbert A. Barnes regarding street signs, condition of 8th Street, etc., was read and ordered filed. .Petition of Gertrude Raymond to remove one pepper tree on E Avenue was read and referred to the Superintendent of Streets. .Reports of the City Clerk and City Treasurer for quarter ending Sept. 30, 1928, Presented and ordered filed. .The Street Superintendent was given further time regarding repairs to Grove Street. Bond of George S. Iverson, Master Plumber, presented. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, that the bond be approved, accepted and ordered filed. Carried. .Mr. Headlund was present and requested a street light at the intersection of 18th Street and 2nd Avenue. Same was re- ferred to the Finance Committee. .It now being the time set for hearing of appeals in the matter of Assessment No. 54 for paving Streets, Avenues and Alleys North of loth Street and East of 1st Avenue, same was taken up and concluded. RESOLUTION NO. 1345, Overruling and sustaining appeals and correcting diagram and assessment for paving of Streets, Avenues and Alleys North of loth Street and East of 1st Avenue was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Murray, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. fiRESOLUTION NO. 1346, Confirming Superintendent of Streets' Assessment No. 54 as modified by Resolution No. 1345, for the paving of Streets, Avenues and Alleys North of loth Street and East of 1st Avenue, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, al] Trustees present voting aye. 230. -Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the City Attorney be instructed to preparo Resolution placing Lloyd Lovell on monthly salary basis as Traffic Officer. Carried. Moved by Murray, seconded by Bird, that the Board adjourn to Wednesday, November 7, 1928, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Carried. of the Board of 'Trustees City of National City, California. ATTEST:
