Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees called to order
by the President. Trustees present- Bird, Cordingly, Fritz,
Murray, Addis.
Minutes of regular meeting of August 21, 1928, read and
approved.

.The City Recorder requested that an audit be made of his
records. Same was referred to the Finance Committee.
.Mr. H. A. Barnes was present and requested improvement
of East 8th Street, also requested the placing of street signs
at street intersections, and also to see if something could not
be done towards stopping odor from Fertilizer Plant.
,Several others were present and spoke regarding odor from
Plant.
,Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the City
Attorney be instructed to secure all affidavits possible
regarding odor from Fertilizer Plant and file same with the
District Attorney, in preference to all other business.
.Moved by Murray, seconded by Bird, that the Health Officer
be instructed to revoke licnese of Twin City Rendering Company
and the City Marshal be instructed to secure a warrant and bring
parties before the City Recorder. Carried.
•Communication from Twin City Rendering Company, Inc. re-
garding conditions at plant was read and ordered filed.
.Communication from H. P. Requa regarding the improvement
of llth Street from National Avenue to A Avenue was read and
ordered filed.
.Petition of property owners for the improvement of A, B
and C Avenues full width, subject only to sewer question being
first taken care of, was read and referred to the City Engineer.
.Petition of Cecil I. MacRae to install gasoline tank in
parking at 1441 Highland Avenue, was read. Moved by Murray,
seconded by Fritz, that the petition be granted. Carried.
,Report of the Recorder for month of August, 1928, read
and ordered filed.
.Report of the City Marshal for month of August, 1928, read
and ordered filed.
.Mr. John Becker requested permission to use ball grounds
in park forming a nine under the name of "National City". Same
referred to the Park Committee.

ORDINANCE NO. 590, Fixing the rate at $1.95 and levying
the taxes for fiscal year 1928-1929, was placed on final passage,
and on motion by Cordingly, seconded by Murray, same adopted,
all Trustees present voting aye.
•Estittate of City Engineer of work completed from Aug. 21,
1928, to Sept. 4, 1928, by Griffith Company of paving strip
on Streets and Avenues North of 10th Street and East of 1st
Avenue with Asphaltic concrete pavement, was read and of'dered
filed.
RESOLUTION NO. 1323, Approving estimate of Engineer and
authorizing payment in Griffith Company of $8,179.11 for paving
strip on Streets and Avenues North of 10th Street and East of 1st
Avenue with Asphaltic concrete pavement, was read. Moved by
Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the Resolution be adopted.
Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
11RESODUTION NO. 1324, Accepting Deed of W. G. Ebbs for land
for street purposes on Harbison Avenue, was read. Moved by
Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the Resolution be adopted.
Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
.RESOLUTION NO. 1325, Accepting Deed of Katherine Pike
Skedden for land for street purposes on Harbison Avenue, was
read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the Resolution
be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.

Skedden for land for street purposes on Harbison Avenue, was read.
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the Resolution be
adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
.RESOLUTION NO. 1327, Accepting Deed of Manita Harper Guy
and D. P. Guy for land for street purposes on Harbison Avenue,
was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the Reso-
lution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees_ present voting aye.
.Moved by Bird, seconded by Murray, that the City Attorney
be instructed to prepare an Ordinance increasing salary of
City Marshal to $250.00 per month, Carried.

.Moved by Bird, seconded by Murray, that the City Attorney
be instructed to prepare an Ordinance adopting the Uniform
Building Code prepared by the Pacific Coast Building Officials
Conference by reference, naming Raymond Hill as building inspector
without salary or fees. Carried.
.The Street Superintendent stated that the sidewalk at the
intersection of D Avenue and 8th Street was laid in 1907 and
recommended that the request for the City to repair same be
denied.
.Moved by Murray, seconded by Bird, that the Street Super-
intendent be given further time regarding repair of sidewalks.
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by May, that the Board
adjourn. Carried.
