Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. .Communication from the Sweetwater vrater Corporation stating that the Company's rain at the intersection of Grove and 18th Streets was but two inches and that they did not believe that it would be advisable to place a fire plug at that po-_nt, 1,as read and referred to the Fire Committee. ,Communication from: the San Diego Sun requesting that the City of National City take space in their annual edition to be published in March, was read. Roved by Cordingly, seconded by Dog Tags Total 48. Fritz, that the request be denied. Carried. .Petition of W. B. Becker requesting that the Pool Hall License at 1826 6th Avenue in the name of C. D. Dickeson be trans- ferred to him, was read and referred to the Police Committee. ,Communication from the Kiwanis Club of National City re- garding the development of a Modern Community Center and Recreational Area was read and referred to the Finance Committee. .Petitions of property owners to pave the following streets were read: 5th Street from 1st Avenue to Highland Avenue; D Avenue from Division Street to loth Street; 4th Street from 1st Avenue to Highland Avenue; 9th Street from A Avenue to E Avenue, with Portland Cement Concrete; also 9th Street from A Avenue to E Avenue with Asphaltic Concrete; and Highland Avenue from 2nd Street to Eighth Street. Same were referred to the City Engineer. ,Petition of property oaners to close the alley in Block 1, Morgan's Subdivision in 10 Acre Lot 15, * Section 153, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, that the petition be denied. Carried. ,Report of the Recorder for month of January, 1927, showing fines collected amounting to ;,,2,001.00, was read and ordered filed. .Report of the City .`engineer on petitions for paving 2nd, 3rd and 4th Streets ,vas read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the report be accepted. Carried. .Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the President of the Board and the City Clerk draw a warrant in favor of the Pacific Coast Building Officials* Conference for $?5.00 in payment of active members' annual dues. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. .The Finance Committee was given further time regarding the application of William Brant for a free peddler's license. ,Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that a warrant be drawn in favor of J. A. Fritz for j15.00 for refund of deposit for removal of trees. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. ,The Fire and Police Committees were given further time 49. regarding applications for increase in salaries. ,The Finance Committee was given further time regarding the License Ordinance. ,Moved by Bird, seconded by Fritz, that a fire plug be installed at the intersection_ of l8th Street and Prospect Street; also one at the intersection of 22nd and Prospect Streets. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. Master Plumber, .Bond of Frank M. TattersallAwas presented. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the Bond be approved, accepted and ordered filed. Carried. (RESOLUTION fO. 1095, Accenting Easements from Robert Reid and Wife and Isaac Rude and ?life was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. .Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the appointment of Miss Margaret Bencini as Deputy City Clerk be and the same is hereby approved and her salary as such Deputy City Cleric fixed per month at '90.00A payable bywarranton the 1st day of each calendar month out of the General Fund, salary to commence on the 1st day of February, 1927.
