Trustees present- Addis, Bird, Cordingly, Fritz and Murray. Minutes of regular meeting of July 5, 1927, read,and approved. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. •The Fire Marshal requested information regarding injuries to firemen in answering calls outside of the City limits. Same was referred to the City Attorney. .The City Marshal requested that new badges for the Traffic Officers costing $14.00 per pair be purchased. The matter was laid over. ,The City Engineer requested more help on account of the increased street work. The matter was laid over. ,Petition of F. W. Dimes to remove eight palm trees from Fleming Ranch on East Eighth Street, accompanied by a deposit of $40.00 was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Fritz, that the petition be granted. Carried. 95• ,Reports of the City Clerk and City Treasurer for quarter ending June 30, 1927, presented and ordered filed. ,Report of the City Clerk for year ending June 30, 1927, was presented. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Addis, that the report be received and filed and the City Clerk instructed to have same published as required by law. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. .ORDINANCE NO. , An Ordinance Amending Section 1 of Ordinance No. 552, Establishing Fire Limits in the City of National City, was read. Moved by Addis, seconded by Bird, that it be introduced and laid over under the rules and according to law. Carried. .Estimate of the City Engineer of work completed to date by Ben Pearce of paving of portions of Sixteenth, Eighteenth, Twenty- fourth Streets and N Avenue was read. RESOLUTION NO. 1151, Approving estimate of the City Engineer and authorizing payment of 75% of work completed by Ben Pearce amounting to $4,853.71, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present toting aye. ,Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Addis, that the City Engineer be authorized to employ additional help. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. .Moved by Bird, seconded by Fritz, that the City Attorney and City Engineer be instructed to prepare plans and specifications for the paving with Asphaltic Concrete of all unpaved streets between First Avenue and J Avenue beginning with Tenth Street and including portion of First Street; also Fourth Street from of streets Highland Avenue to L Avenue, except that portion/provided for by bond issue, and also excepting Highland Avenue.
