Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees called to order
by the President. Trustees present- Addis, Cordingly, Fritz
and Murray. Trustee Bird absent.
Minutes of regular meeting of May 17, 1927, read and
approved.
The following bills, audited by a majority of the Finance

Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, that the bills be allowed
and warrants ordered drawn for the same. Carried, all Trustees
present voting aye.
;RESOLUTION NO. 1135, Granting permission to the Board of
Supervisors of the County of San Diego to assume full jurisdiction
over a proposed public way insofar as the same lies within the

City of National City was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by
Addis, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried by the following
vote: Ayes, Trustees Addis, Fritz, Murray. Noe, Trustee Cordingly.
,Mrs. Hayward was present regarding the selling of fire works
and was informed that there was no ordinance prohibiting the sale
of same.
-The City Recorder requested that arrangements be made to
have his books audited. Same was referred to the Finance Com-
mittee.
.Communication from the San Diego Oil Products Corporation
regarding repairs to 6th Avenue was read and referred to the
City Engineer.
.Application of W. A. Mordhorst for position as Inspector
on paving was read and ordered filed.
.Application of Francis X. Morrow for permission to install
gasoline pumps, tanks and other buildings on the Southeast cor-
ner of 2nd Street and Highland Avenue was read and laid over.
-Petition of property owners to have Division Street from
Main Street to Highland Avenue and National Avenue from Division
to First Streets graded, paved, etc., was read and referred to
the City Attorney and City Engineer.
.Petition of San Diego Steam Laundry for refund of license
fee paid in August 1924 was read and ordered filed.
.Communication from the Fire Marshal regarding the extension
of the fire limits was read and ordered filed.
.Report of the City Engineer on protest of property owners
against the construction of sidewalk on 2nd Street between Highland
and Laurel Avenues was read and ordered filed.
-Report of the Recorder for month of May, 1927, showing fines
collected amounting to $1250.00 was read and ordered filed.
-ORDINANCE N0. , An Ordinance repealing Ordinance
No. 561 and creating Zone A in the City of National City, was
read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, that it be intro-
duced and laid over under the rules and according to law. Carried.

,_The Planning Commission�.o whom the petition to repeal
the Zoning Ordinance insofar as the same applies to Highland
Avenue from 2nd to 8th Streets was referred, recommended that
it be returned to the signers with the information that it is
the sense of the Planning Commission that if said street is
opened as a business district, it should be included in the
fire district, and a petition stating that as the desire of
the signers, should be presented to the Board of Trustees.
• Moved by Fritz, seconded by Addis, that the report of
the Planning Commission be accepted, and the City Clerk instructed
to notify the petitioners of this report. Carried.

• RESOLUTION NO. 1136, Accepting Deed of Norman J. Ferguson,
et al, for land for street purposes was read. Moved by Cordingly,
seconded by Addis, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all
Trustees present voting aye.
RESOLUTION NO. 1137, Accepting Deed of The First Trust & Savings
Bank of San Diego for land on Division Street for street purposes
was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Addiq, that the Resolu-
tion be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
;RESOLUTION NO. 1138, Accepting Deed of The First Trust &
Savings Bank of San Diego for land on Harbison Avenue for street
purposes was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Addis, that
the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting
aye.
- Easement of the San Diego & Arizona Railway Company for land
for street purposes on L Avenue was read and referred to the City
Attorney and City Engineer.
".RESOLUTION NO. 1139, Ordering the grading and other improvement
on portions of D Avenue and l8th Street was read. Moved by
Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, that the Resolution be adopted.
Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
% RESOLUTION NO. 1140, Ordering the paving and other improvement
of portions of lat Avenue, Main and Division Streets was read.
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Addis, that the Resolution be
adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.

'(RESOLUTION NO. 1141, Ordering the paving and other im-
provement of portions of 6th Street, A and K Avenues was read.
Moved by Fritz, seconded by Addis, that the Resolution be adopted.
Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
,The City Engineer recommended that Frank Cordingly be
appointed Inspector of cement work on Highland Avenue and
W. A. Mordhorat be appointed Inspector of paving on 16th, 18th,
24th Streets and N Avenue.
4Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Addis, that W. A. Mordhorst
be appointed Inspector of paving on the contract with Ben Pearce
on 16th, 18th, 24th Streets and N Avenue at a salary of $5.00
per day and to work such days as directed by the Street Super-
intendent. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
/Moved by Fritz, seconded by Addis, that Frank Cordingly
be appointed Inspector of cement work on the contract with
the Pioneer Transfer Co. of Calexico on Highland Avenue at a
salary of $5.00 per day and to work such days as directed by the
Street Superintendent. Carried, all Trustees present %Toting aye.
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Addis, that the Board adjourn.
Carried.
