Trustees present- Addis, Cordingly, Fritz and Murray. Trustee Bird absent. Minutes of regular meeting of June 7, 1927, read and approved. Wegeforth regarding his property along Fourth Street being used as a public dump was read and re- ferred to the Police Department. -Communication from the Library Trustees requesting the re -appointment of Mrs. Sara M. Spafford and the appointment of Mr. James Waddell as members of the Library Board, term beginning July 1, 1927, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Addis, that Mrs. Sara M. Spafford and Mr. James Waddell be appointed members of the Board of Trustees of the Public Library, term beginning July 1, 1927. Communication from J. A. Bird regarding ordinance for the handling of fire works was read and referred to the City Attorney. ORDINANCE NO. 569, Repealing Ordinance No. 561 and creating Zone A, was placed on final passage, and on motion by Cordingly, 89. seconded by Addis, same adopted, all Trustees present voting aye. . Moved by Fritz, seconded by Addis, that Margaret Bencini be and Tax Collector appointed Deputy City Treasuregat a salary of $10.00 per month, effective June 21, 1927. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. ".Report of the City Engineer on bids for the grading and other improvement of portions of D Avenue and Eighteenth Street, recommend- ing the acceptance of the bid of T. B. Penick & Sons was read and ordered filed. ;RESOLUTION OF AWARD NO. 1142, awarding the contract for the grading and other improvement of portions of D Avenue and Eight- eenth Street to T. B. Penick & Sons was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Addis, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. ,Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, that Resolution of Award No. 1142, for the grading and other improvement of portions of D Avenue and Eighteenth Street be approved. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. ,Report of the City Engineer on bids for paving portion of First Avenue, recommending the acceptance of the bid of King S. Heath was read and ordered filed. ;RESOLUTION OF AWARD NO. 1143, awarding the contract for paving of portion of First Avenue to King S. Heath was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Addis, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. ,Report of the City Engineer on bids for the paving and other improvement of portions of First Avenue, Main and Division Streets, recommending the acceptance of the bid of King S. Heath was read and ordered filed. ,RESOLUTION OF AWARD NO. 1144, awarding the contract for the paving and other improvement of portions of First Avenue, Main and Division Streets to King S. Heath was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Cordingly, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. ,Moved by Fritz, seconded by Addis, that Resolution of Awa rd 90. No. 1144 for the paving and other improvement of portions of First Avenue, Main and Division Streets be approved. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. ,Report of the City Engineer on bids for the paving of portions of Sixth and Fifth Streets, recommending the acceptance of the bid of Griffith Company was read and ordered filed. ;RESOLUTION OF AWARD NO. 1145, awarding the contract for paving of portions of Sixth and Fifth Streetsto Griffith Company was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, that the Reso- lution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. ,Report of the City Engineer on bids for the paving and other improvement of portions of Sixth Street, A and K Avenues, recommend- ing the acceptance of the bid of Griffith Company was read and ordered filed. ;RESOLUTION OF AWARD NO. 1146, awarding the contract for the paving and other improvement of portions of Sixth Street, A and K Avenues to Griffith Company was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Addis, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. .Moved by Addis, seconded by Cordingly, that Resolution of Award No. 1146 for the paving and other improvement of portions of Sixth Street, A and K Avenues be approved. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. .The Chairman of the Street Committee reported that he had been informed that Chula Vista would repair their part of Sixth Avenue and the County would do the same, as soon as the City re- paired the bridge. The City Engineer recommended the construction of a concrete culvert at a cost of about $1000.00. The matter was laid over to the next meeting. .The Finance Committee was given further time regarding the audit of the Recorder's books. Moved by Fritz,seconded by Addis, that the Board adjourn.
