.Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, that the bids
be referred to the City Engineer. Carried.
'The Planning Commission recommended that Ordinance No.
561 be amended to make Eighth Street from G to Highland Ave-
nues a business district.
,Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the City
Attorney be instructed to amend Zoning Ordinance to make
Eighth Street a business district 125 feet on each side to
a point 125 feet East of Highland Avenue. Carried.
' Petition of Daniel E. Walters to remove one tree at
2042 N Avenue was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by
Addis, that the petition be granted. Carried.
.Application of Harry Allen to be appointed inspector
of sidewalk and paving was read and ordered filed.
, Application of F. A. Crandall for position of paving
and sidewalk inspector was read and ordered filed.
,Application of Matthias Taylor to be appointed Deputy
Marshal without pay was read and referred to the Police Depart-
ment.
.Report of the Recorder for month of April 1927 showing
fines collected amounting to $1285.00 was read and ordered
filed.
,The Finance Committee reported they had authorized the
installation of three new awnings at the Library at a ctst
of $27.00.
,The Health Committee reported they had no jurisdiction
over the ground used as the city dump.
, The City Marshal reported that the San Diego Consolidated
Gas & Electric Company had replaced the light post on National
Avenue and presented bill to the party who broke same.
RESOLUTION NO. 1126, Refusing to call an election for
the purpose of voting on annexation was read. Moved by
Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, that the Resolution be adopted.
Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.

•The report of the City Engineer on bids received for the
improvement of portions of Twelfth, Thirteenth and Fifteenth
Streets, Highland, I and J Avenues, recommending the acceptance
of the bid of Pioneer Transfer Co. Inc., of Calexico, was read.
;RESOLUTION OF AWARD NO. 1127, awarding the contract to
the Pioneer Transfer Co. Inc., of Calexico for the grading and
other improvement of portions of Twelfth, Thirteenth and Fifteenth
Streets, Highland, I and J Avenues, was read. Moved by Fritz,
seconded by Bird, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all
Trustees present voting aye.
.Moved by Fritz, seconded by Bird, that Resolution of Award
No. 1127 for the grading and other improvement of portions of
Twelfth, Thirteenth and Fifteenth Streets, Highland, I and J
Avenues be approved. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
Moved by Bird, seconded by Addis, that the Board adjourn,
Carried.
