Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees called to order
by the President. Trustees present- Addis, Cordingly, Fritz and
Murray. Trustee Bird late.
Minutes of regular meeting of Oct. 18, 1927, read and approved.
The following bills, audited by a majority of the Finance

.Mr. William Keller was present asking if any action had been
taken regarding the closing of Pool Halls and was informed that
nothing had been done as yet.
.Mrs. Gallagher was present requesting permission for her
Grandson to sell peanuts
to do so on the streets.

,Mr. Charles Stein was present regarding the changing of the
width of F Avenue. No action was taken.
'Mr. F. B. Williams was present complaining of the drainage
at 21st Street and A Avenue. Same was referred to the Superintendent
of Streets.
.It now being the time set for the hearing of the appeal from
the warrant, assessment and diagram for the paving of portions of
Sixth Street, A and K Avenues, same was taken up; and after con-
siderable discussion, it was moved by Bird, seconded by Fritz,
that the matter be continued to Nov. 15, 1927, at 8 o'clock P.M.
Carried.
.Petition of citizens for a street light at the intersection
of 18th Street and 5th Avenue was read and referred to the Finance
Committee to report on at next meeting.
Communication from Annie M. Hoover requesting permission to
hold a sale of Bazaar articles on the street in front of National
Realty Company office on Saturday,Nov. 19th, was read and the City
Clerk instructed to inform her that it would be impossible to grant
this request.
.The report of the Planning Commission regarding the in-
stallation of a gasoline pump on National Avenue by Mr. Forbes
recommending that same be denied was read and ordered filed.
•Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, that the petition of
Mr. Forbes to install gasoline pump on National Avenue be denied.
Carried.
,Petition of Willis Auber to sell peanuts on the streets was
read and the City Clerk was instructed to notify him that it would
be impossible to grant this request.
.Petition of B. K. Haseltine for permission to operate a shoe
shine stand in front of his place of business at 728 National Avenue
was read and the City Clerk was instructed to notify him that it
would be impossible to grant same.
Petition of E. L. May accompanied by a deposit of $20.00
to remove four Eucalyptus trees on I Avenue was read. Moved by

Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, that the petition be granted.
Carried.
,Petition of Griffith Company requesting extension of sixty
days time for the paving of portions of Sixth Street, A and K
Avenues was read.
;RESOLUTION NO. 1181, Granting Griffith Company extension of
sixty days time for the paving of portions of Sixth Street, A and
K Avenues was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that
the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting
aye.
,Petition of Mrs. Ellen Coan accompanied by a deposit of $5.00
to remove one tree at 707 D Avenue was read. Moved by Bird,
seconded by Addis, that the petition be granted. Carried.
.Communication from Forrest M. Raymond regarding drainage
at 5th Street and B Avenue was read and referred to the City
Engineer and Superintendent of Streets.
•Estimate of Raymond Hill amounting to $$235.00 for repairs
to the roof of the Fire Hall was read. Moved by Bird, seconded
by Cordingly, that the bid of Raymond Hill for $235.00 for repairs
to Fire Hall be accepted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
•Inventory of supplies of the National City Street Department
amounting to $5,392.81 was read and laid over.
.Report of the Recorder for the month of October 1927, showing
fines collected amounting to $1334.00 was presented and ordered filed.
eThe City Attorney reported that by the Ordinance the Board
could at any time revoke the licenses of the Pool Halls.

Ordinance No. 540, increasing the Salary of the City Engineer
$p50.00 per month was read. LIoved by Addis, seconded by Fritz,
that it be introduced and laid over under the rules and according
to law. Carried.

Ordinance No. 558, increasing the salary of the Superintendent of
Streets $50.00 per month was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by

;RESOLUTION NO. 1182, Approving Map of Hamann Subdivision
was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, that the
Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
,RESOLUTION NO. 1183, Approving Map of Waters Subdivision
was read. Moved by Addis, seconded by Cordingly, that the
Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
•Appeal of Frank H. Graham from the warrant, assessment and
diagram for the improvement of portions of 12th, 13th, 15th Streets,
Highland, I and J Avenues was read.
.Appeal of Esther Olive Gottwals from the warrant, assessment
and diagram for the improvement of portions of 12th, 13th, 15th
Streets, Highland, I and J Avenues was read.

.Estimate of the City Engineer of work completed to date by
King S. Heath under contract dated June 29, 1927, was read and
ordered filed.
;RESOLUTION NO. 1186, Authorizing payment to King S. Heath

of $3,925.35, being 75% of work completed to date under contract
dated June 29, 1927, for paving portion of First Avenue, was read.

due Nov. 1, 1927, amounting to $1800.00 was read. Moved by

Avenue, 17th Street and Alley in Block 18, was read. Moved by
Fritz, seconded by Cordingly, that the Resolution be adopted.

;RESOLUTION N0. 1189, Adopting Plat of District for the
paving and other improvement of portions of Highland Avenue from
Division Street to 30th Street was read. Moved by Cordingly,
seconded by Fritz, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all
Trustees present voting aye.
RESOLUTION N0. 1190 OF INTENTION for the paving and other
improvement of portion of Highland Avenue from Division Street t
30th Street was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Cordingly,
that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present
voting aye.
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Addis, that the Board
adjourn. Carried.
