Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees called to order
by the President. Trustees present --Addis, Bird, Fritz, and
Murray. Trust-;e Cordingly absent.

Moved by Bird, seconded by Fritz that the bills be allowed and
warrants ordered dra"in for sire. Carried, all Trustees present
voting aye.
.Communication from J. E. Blackman making application for an
extension of tide lands lease was read and refezrod to the City
Attorney and City Engineer.
,Communication from the State Compensation Insurance Fund
regarding insurance for volunteer firemen ivas read and ordered
filed. Moved by Bird, seconded by Addis that the City provide
for the maximun benefits of State Compensation Insurance. Car-
ried, all Trustees present voting aye.
,Petition of citizens regarding the San Diego and Arizona
Railway crossing at Twenty-fourth Street was read and referred

to the City Engineer to take up with the Railway officials
and report back to the Board.
.Application of L. J. Enloe for position of traffic police-
man and deputy marshal was read and ordered filed.
.Report of the Recorder for the month of July, 1926, show-
ing fines collected amounting; to $1228.50 was read and ordered
filed.
,City Marsha] renortea considerable complaint regardint slot
machines. Moved by Addis, seconded by Bird that the Police De_
partrent notify the operators of the slot machines not to allow
anyone under twenty-one years of ace to play same. Carried.
.The Engineer was given further time regarding report on
opening Fourteenth Street from F to Highland Avenue.
.Moved by Bird, seconded by Fritz that the Fire Department
be instructed to purchase two hundred fifty feet of ono and one-
half inch fire hose at 70V per foot from the American Rubber
Manufacturing Company. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
,Fire Department was given further time regarding the location
of fire hydrants on East Eighth Street.
.Moved by Bird, seconded by Fritz that the City Engineer se-
cure a search of record, of ownership on P Avenue frori Fourth to
Eighth Streets. Carried, all Trustees present voting ave.
.Communication from Harry M. t1egeforth addressed to the City
Attorney regarding road across his property •ryas read and referred
to the City Attorney.
.Bond of P. T. Milburn, Llaster Plumber, was presented. Moved
by Addis, seconded by Bird that the bond be approved, accepted
and ordered filed. Carried.
.RESOLUTION NO. 1066, Repealing Resolution No. 1025 and
creating office of traffic policemen and deputy marshals and fix-
ing salary of same was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Addis
that the Resolution be adopted. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes --Trustees Addis, Fritz and Murray. No --Trustee. Bird.
Absent --Trustee Cordingly.
,RESOLUTION OF IN'TTENTION NO. 1067 regarding National City
B.
Lighting District flo. 1 was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by
Fritz that the Resolution be adopter:. Carried, all Trustees
present voting aye.
.Moved by Bird, seconded by Fritz that the following street
lights be removed: National Avenue and Fifth, Sixth, Seventh,
Eighth, Ninth and Tenth Streets, Eighth Street and A Avenue;
and the City Clerk be instructed to notify the San Diego Consol-
idated Gas & Electric Company. Carried.
Moved by Addis, seconded by Bird that the Board adjourn.
Carried.
