Trustees present --Addis, Bird, Cordingly, Fritz, and Murray. Minutes of meeting of April 20, 1926, read and approved. The following bills Committee, presented: W. R. Carrie., all Trustees present voting aye. Mr. Spicer present regarding bridge on 0 Avenue in Para- dise Valley. Same was referred to the Street Department. ,Communication from Mzs. J. B. Johnstone, 1940 Highland Ave- nue, regarding dead tree' and condition of street was read and referred to the Superintendent of Streets. .Communication from the Citizen's Committee regarding con- ditions in Tijuana, Mexico was read. Moved by Bird, seconded 242. by Fritz that this Board approve the recommendations of the Citizen's Committee. Carried. .Mr. Ebbs was present asking regarding paving of A Avenue between Seventh and Eighth Streets. Report of the Recorder for the month of April, 1926, show- ing fines collected amounting to $954.00 was presented and ordered filed. .The Street Superintendent reported the trees planted by Ella Ernst on East Eighteenth Street were growing. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Cordingly that the proper officers be in- structed to draw a warrant on the General Fund for $15.00 in favor of Ella Ernst, being refund on deposit for removal of trees. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. ,Moved by Fritz, seconded by Bird that the requests for an increase in salary of R. L. Amos, B. W. Servatius and C. B. Ireland be denied. Carried. ,Deed from Francis Cummings for a portion of Quarter Sec- tion 130 for street purposes was read and referred to the City Engineer. .Bond of J. T. Broderick, sidewalk builder, was presented. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Bird that the bond be approved, accepted and ordered filed. Carried. ,RESOLUTION NO. 1049, Ordering the paving of Eighth Street from A to K Avenue was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Bird that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. ,Communication from The Planning Commission presenting a set back ordinance and requesting that the Board pass same was read and ordered filed. ORDINANCE NO. , An Ordinance Creating Zone A within the limits of the City of National City, California, and re- stricting the uses to which buildings may be put and providing the distance back which buildings shall be set from the prop- erty line and providing the penalty for the violation thereof was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Addis that it' -'be intro- duced and laid over under the rules and according to law. Car- • 243. • ried. .Petition of merchants requesting a one hour parking zone between Eighth and Ninth Streets on National Avenue was read and referred to the Police Department. .Moved by Addis, seconded by Bird that the Police Depart_ ment be instructed to rent the building at Twelfth Street and National Avenue for use of the Police and Recorder.
