Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees called to order
by the President. Trustees present- Bird, Co rdingly, Fritz
and Murray. Trustee Addis absent.
Minutes of regular meeting of August 4, 1925, read and
approved.
The following bills, audited by a ma3ority of the
Finance Committee, presented:

warrants ordered drawn for the same. Carried by the following
vote: Ayes, Trustees- Bird, Fritz and Murray. Noe, Trustee-
Cordingly.
.Petition of W. Garrick for refund of $20,00 deposit
for removal of trees was read and referred to the Street Super-
intendent.
.Communication from the Pacific Coact Association of
Fire Chiefs regarding convention to be held at Seattle, Washington
on Sept. 21st to 24th inclusive, was read and ordered filed.
.Resignation of B. E. Diffenbaugh as Deputy Fire Marshal
was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Fritz, that the resignation
be accepted. Carried.
.Communication from Fire Chief submitting name of Ray
Amos to fill vacancy created by resignation of B. E. Diffenbaugh
was read and ordered filed.

RESOLUTION NO. 999, Repealing Resolution No. 990,
Appointing Ray Amos Deputy Fire Marshal and Fixing Salary,
was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the
Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting
aye.
Communication from Fire Chief requesting an increase
of salary to $200.00 was read and referred to the Finance
Committee.
.Communication from the Homeland Building Company
requesting permission to pave, by private contract, the
South side of Eighth Street from Eaet line of A Avenue to
the West line of Alley in Block 2 was read. Moved by Bird,
seconded by Fritz, that the petition be granted. Carried..
.Petition ofproperty owners requesting that ornamental
lights be installed on Eighth Street between National Avenue
and A Avenue and also on National Avenue between Fifth Street
and Tenth Street, was read and referred to the Finance Com-
mittee and the City Engineer.
.The City Engineer reported that the curb had been
installed in front of Mrs. Catlin's property, excepting
portion near tree. The President of the Board instructed
the Street Superintendent to enforce ordinance to remove
tree.
,Mr. Allen requested permission to top trees at
Sixteenth Street and Sixth Avenue schools. Moved by Bird,
seconded by Fritz,'that the request be granted. Carried.
,The Street Superintendent reported that the tree
planted by Ray F. Pommier was dead, and he had been instructed
to replace same; that trees planted by John H. Curry were grow-
ing nicely.
Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the refund
of $15.00 to John H. Curry deposited for removal of trees, be
refunded. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
,Bond of John H. Cady, Master Plumber, was presented.

Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the Bond be
approved, accepted and ordered filed. Carried.
RESOLUTION NO. 1000, Approving and Adopting
Plane and Specifications for storm drain on Fourth Street
and Directing Clerk to Advertise for Bids for same, was
read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Bird, that the Resoltition
be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
,Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the
Fire Chief be instructed to paint Fire Hall. Carried, all
Trustees present voting aye.
'Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, that the
following transfers of funds be made: From General Fund to
Salary Fund $130.84; from General Fund to Street Fund $600.00;
From General Fund to Fire Fund $625.00; From General Fund to
Police Fund $125.00; from General Fund to Engineering Fund
$1300.00; from General Fund to Sinking Fund No. 4 $173.88;
and from General Fund to Park Maintenance Fund $200.00; and
the proper officers be instructed to make the necessary en-
tries upon their records. Carried.
Moved by Fritz, seconded by Cordingly, that the
Board adjourn. Carried.
