Same was referred to the Finance Committee to report on at next meeting. of the Finance • • 211 • ,Communication from the Mayor of Los Aneles regarding the question of telephone rates was read and ordered filed. .Petition of R. L. Amos for an increase in salary was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird that the petition be denied. Carried. .Petition of property owners to have A. Avenue paved from the south side of 6th Street to the north side of 8th Street to be included in the petition for the paving of 6th Street was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird that the City Engineer be instructed to include A. Avenue paving from the south side of eth Street to the north side of 8th Street with the 6th Street paving proceeding. Carried. ,Petition of Charles Stein to grade the west half of F. Avenue between 17th and 19th Streets was read and placed on file. Communication from the Library Board of Trustees regard- ing insurance on the building and requesting that the inside be calcimined was read and referred to the Finance Committee to investigate and report at next meeting. .Petition of V. Vandertunk, accompanied by deposit of $5.00 to remove one tree on N. Avenue was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Addis that the petition be granted. Carried. .Communication from the City Marshall recommending Boule- vard stops on all streets east and west on National Avenue from let to 30th Streets and on Highland Avenue, all streets east and west from 2nd to 30th was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Addis that it be referred to the City Attorney to prepare an ordinance. Carried. •Report of the City Recorder for the month of November, 1925 showing fines collected amounting to $2965.00 was read and ordered filed. .Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird that the requests for a street light on Division Street, east of D. Avenue be • i 212 • • denied. Carried. .Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly that the City Attorney prepare proceedings for ornamental lights on Nation- al Avenue from 5th to loth Streets and on 8th Street from National Avenue to A. Avenue, the City to pay twenty per -cent of maintenance charges. Carried. •ORDINANCE No. 558 repealing Section 8 of Ordinance No. 540 fixing salary of laborers in Street Departments, was placed on final passage and on motion by Addis, seconded by Fritz, same adopted by following vote: Ayes, Addis, Bird, Fritz, and Murray. No, Trustee Cordingly. .RESOLTTION NO. 1025 repealing Resolution No. 961 and creating Office of Traffic Policeman and fixing salary was read. Moved bir Addis, seconded by Cordingly that the Resol- ution be ado,Dted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. .RESOLUTION NO. 1026 ordering the grading and other im- provements of certain streets and avenues west of National Avenue was read, Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees voj._ng aye. ORDINANCE NO. , an Ordinance creating a Plann- ing Commission, appointing members and fixing salary of the Secretary was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Addis that it be introduced and laid over under the rules and according to law. Carried. .Moved by Addis, seconded by Fritz that the request of T. P. Frazer for an increase in salary to $200.00 per month be allowed. Carried by the following vote: Ayes, Trustees Addis, Fritz, and Murray. No, Trustees Bird and Cordingly. .RESOLUTION NO. 1027 repealing a portion of Resolution No. 1025 fixing the salary of T. P. Frazer at $200.00 per month was read. Moved ry Addis, seconded by Fritz that the Resolution be adopted. Carried by the following vote: Ayes, Trustees Addis, Fritz, and Murray.
