Trustees present- Bird, Cordingly, Fritz and Murray. Trustee Addis absent. Minutes of regular meeting of January 20, 1925, read and approved. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. _Mr. Allen was present and requested that the City Engineer be instructed to furnish_the yardage on F Avenue between 15th and 16th Streets, Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, that it be referred to the City Engineer with in- struotione to furnish the yardage. Carried. 148. 1 1 ‘Communication from the National City Chamber of Commerce regarding the establishment of an ornamental lighting district on National Avenue between let and 13th Streets; also communication regardingtthe establishment of a planting com- mission were read. The matter of ornamental lighting was laid over. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, that the Board of Trustees does not consider time ripe for the establishment of a planning commission. Carried. ,Notice from the Railroad Commission of the State of California Betting time of hearing of the application of the San Diego & Arizona Railway Company for permission to construct, maintain and operate a team track on Ninth Avenue in National City, on February 20, 1925, at 10 o'clock A.M. in the City Hall of National City, was read and ordered filed. Communication from Nat Rogan regarding the improvement of 6th Avenue between the Southerly line of 8th Street and the Northerly line of 12th Street, was read and ordered filed. ,Petition of Francis R. and Emma R. Morrow to remove three trees on 5th Street was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the petition be granted. Carried. •Petition of A. Martinez to trim six trees on 19th Street and 5th Avenue was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Cordingly, that the petition be granted. Carried. ,Petition of property owners regarding condition of the intersection of 18th and Grove Streets was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, that the City Clerk notify Mr. Wilkie that in the opinion of the Board of Trustees, the only remedy would be the grading of streets. Carried. Protest of property owners against the closing of 19th Street from D to E Avenues was read. Moved by Cordingly, se- conded by Fritz, that it be referred to the City Attorney. Carried. ,Report of the Recorder for the month of January, 1925, J -t presented and ordered filed. 149. x ,Moved by Fritz, seconded by Cordingly, that the City secure a certificate of title showing ownership of certain property on 18th Street. Carried. ,The City Engineer reported that Mr. Charles Stein had finished the grading of E Avenue from 16th to 18th Streets. '!ORDINANCE NO. 549, Amending Section 5 of Ordinance No. 540 and Fixing Salary of the City Recorder was placed on final passage, and on motion by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, same adopted, all Trustees present voting aye. .Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the City Engineer prepare plans and specifications for repairs to the City Hall. Carried. .Bonds of I. P. Peck and W. H. Morton, Master Plumbers, were presented. Moved by Cordingly, seconded b%" Bird, that the Bonds be approved, accepted and ordered filed. Carried. ,RESOLUTION NO. 975, Directing City Engineer to furnish diagram for the construction of sidewalk and curbing upon cea- tain portions of let Avenue, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. 'RESOLUTION NO. 976, Approving diagram of the City Engineer for construction of sidewalk and curbing upon cer- tain portions of let Avenue, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, that the Board adjourn. Carried.
