Trustees present- Addis, Bird, Cordingly, Fritz and Murray. Minutes of regular meeting of January 6, 1925, read and approved. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. -Mr. Charles Stein was present and requested permission to grade E Avenue from 16th to 18th Streets by private contract. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Addis, that the request be granted, work to be done under the supervision of the City Engineer. Carried. .Dr. Lesem, County Health Officer, was present and spoke regarding work of the Health Department in this community. 4 ,4, 145. 1 ,It now being the time for hearing of appeals from the assessment for the improvement of portions of Second and Third Streets, A, E, F and G Avenues, and after argu- ments for and against same were presented- JRESOLOTION NO. 973, Denying and Overruling appeals was read, and on motion by Fritz, seconded by Addis, same adopted by the following vote: Ayee, Trustees Addle, Bird, Fritz and Murray. Noe, Trustee Cordingly. .Communication from the State League of California Municipalities regarding the printing of bills introduced in the State Legislature was read and ordered filed. Petition of Amelia E. Yeager for permission to connect with the sewer on East 8th Street was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Cordingly, that the request be granted, provided petitioner pays the necessary fees. Carried. ,Petition of A. C. Healey, accompanied by check for $10.00, to remove two trees was read. Moved by Fritz, second- ed by Addle, that it be referred to the Superintendent of Streets. Carried. ,Petition of J. W. Moore to trim trees at 5th Street and I Avenue was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Cord- ingly, that the petition be granted. Carried. .Reports of the City Clerk and City Treasurer for quarter ending December 31et, 1924, presented and ordered filed. .Bonds of Frank M Chase, James E. Miller and S. F. Anderson, Master Plumbers, were presented. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Bird, that the Bonds be approved, accepted and ordered filed. Carried. .The Fire Committee reported that Fire Hose purchased under the Bond Issue had been received and was satisfactory. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Addis, that the report be accepted. Carried. -4 146. s 4 • .ORDINANCE N0. , Amending Section 5 of Ordinance No. 540 and Fixing Salary of City Recorder was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that it be introduced and laid over under the rules and according to law. Carried. RESOLUTION NO. 973, OF INTENTION to Close 19th Street between D and E Avenues was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. RESOLUTION NO. 974 OF INTENTION for the grading and other improvement of Second Street from Highland Avenue to Laurel Avenue was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Fritz, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried„ all Trustees present voting aye. .The Street Committee reported that the potd at 5th Street and B Avenue had been drained. -Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Addis, that theCity Attorney ascertain owners of portion of 10 Acre Lot 2, v Sec- tion 153, at the corner of 18th Street and National Avenue and bring suit to gain portions of street.
