Trustees present- Addis, Bird, Cordingly, Fritz and Murray. Minutes of regular meeting of July 7, 1925, read and approved. Carried by the following vote: Ayes, Trustees- Addis, Bird, Fritz and Murray. Noe, Truetee- Cordingly. •Communication from Chester 0. Nelson requesting an ex- tension of sixty days time for the completion of the contract for grading and other improvement of Second Street was read. RESOLUTION N0. 995, Granting extension of sixty days time to Chester 0. Nelson for the completion of the grading and other improvement of Second Street, was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Cordingly, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. •Petition of property owners to vacate a etrip of land ten feet wide on each side of Seventh Street from First to Fifth Avenues was read and referred to the City Engineer. .Report of the City Engineer on petition of property owners to narrow Seventh Street between First and Second Avenues, and recommending that the petition be denied, was read. Moved 180. r by Addis, seconded by Fritz, that the petition to narrow Seventh Street between First and Second Avenues be denied. Carried. -Petition of A. J. Addis for permission to install a gasoline pump in curb at Seventeenth Street and Seventh Avenue was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the petition be granted, work to be done under the supervision of the Fire Marshal. Carried. -Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the matter of entering into a contract with the McMonagle Advertising Agency for waste paper receptacles to be placed on the streets, be referred to the City Attorney. Carried. -Communication from the Sutherland Stage Company requesting permission to place benches at certain locations for the aocomodation of bus patrons, was read and referred to the Street Committee. -Communication from the National City Chamber of Commerce requesting that the Trustees designate one of their number to act ex-officio with the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce was read and ordered filed. .Petition of property owners to pave Seventh Street from the Easterly line of First Avenue to the Easterly line of K Avenue, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that it be referred to the Street Department and City Engineer to report on at next meeting. Carried. .Trustee Cordingly recommended that a street light be installed at Third Avenue and Fifteenth Street. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, that a 60 C.P. street light be installed at Third Avenue and Fifteenth Street. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. .Moved by Addis, seconded by Bird, that the City Marshal be and he is hereby empowered and authorized to employ an additional Traffic Officer whenever he shall deem it necessary 181. t • until further order of this Board. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. .Bond of B. J. Scott, Master Plumber, was presented. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the Bond be approved, accepted and ordered filed. Carried. 'Bond of C. P. Mille, Sidewalk Builder, was presented. Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the Bond be approved, accepted and ordered filed. Carried. '.RESOLUTION NO. 996, Ordering the Paving of portions of Eighth Street, Ninth Street and A Avenue was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the Resolution be ad- opted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. .The matter of plumbing inspection was referred to Trustee Cordingly. Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the Board adjourn. Carried.
