Trustees present- Addis, Bird, Cordingly, Fritz and Murray. Minutes of regular meeting of May 5, 1925, read and approved. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. G. V. Eller was present and requested permission to top trees on East side of F Avenue between 4th and 5th Streets; also four at the corner of 3td Street and F Avenue. Moved by Addis, seconded by Bird, that the request be granted. Carried. .Petition of members of Lincoln Acres Improvement Club for a fire hydrant at the corner of 24th Street and Granger Avenue was read and referred to Trustee Cordingly. -Petition of property owners for fire hydrant at the corner of 15th Street and 3rd Avenue was read and referred to Trustee Cordingly. 170. 4 4 4 -Communication from Francis X. Morrow requesting refund of $15.00 deposited for removal of three trees was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Bird, that the request be granted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. 'Communication from The Seagrave Company, Los Angeles, stating that they would install rear end suction on Seagrave Fire Truck without additional charge, also regarding certain items that it would be impossible to furnish, and enclosing check for $250.00 payable to the City of National City, and also stating they were anxious to receive payment for the machine,was read and ordered filed. ,Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the Fire Truck and Equipment purchased from The Seagrave Company be accepted. Carried. .Protest of property owners against the paving of 8th Street from East side of Highland.Avenue to K Avenue, was read and ordered filed. ,Communication from the American Legion of this City, making application for captured war devices and trophies, was read and ordered filed. 'Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the City Clerk communicate with the Ad2utant General's Office at Sacramento, mailing Dopy of communication from the American Legion and requesting that we be notified which choice of trophies, if any, had been granted. Carried. .Communication from the Post Master of this City re- questing permission to erect letter boxes at certain street corners was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Addis, that the request be granted. Carried. *Lioved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the City Engineer and City Attorney be instructed to start the necessary proceedings for the paving of A Avenue from 8th Street to the south line of 9th Street; 9th Street from East line of A Avenue to the East line of National Avenue; 9th Street from the West • r curb line of National Avenue to the East/line of First Avenue; and Eth Street from the Feet line of National Avenue to the East curb line of First Avenue. Carried. .ORDINANCE NO. 553, Repealing Ordinance No. 536 and Consclidating the Offices of Fire Marshal and Inspector of Electricity and Amending Sections 1 and 2 of Ordinance No. 462, and Providing Duties of Deputy Fire Marshal, was placed on final passage, and on motion. by Cordir_gly, seconded by Bird, same adopted, all Trustees present voting aye.
