Carried, all Trustees pres- ent voting Aye. .Petition, accompanied by deposit of „10.00, of E. 0. Helgason to remove two Eucalyptus trees in front of property at 605 F. Avenue was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz that the petition be granted. Carried. 207. i ,Petition of National City Kiw=nis Club for permission to erect a building in teh City Park for use of the Local Boy Scouts, was read. The Preeident of the Board appointed the Finance Com- mittee to art with the Kiwanis Club regarding building, with pow- er to act. ,Petition of the P. T. A. regarding Traffic regulations on Highland Avenue was read and referred to the Police Committee. ,Moved by Addis, seconded by Bird that the City Engineer prepare plane and specifications for the grading, side -walking, and curbing of Highland Avenue, from 8th Street to the South City Limits. Carried. ,Petition of the Property owners to have D. Avenue graded and curbed from loth Street to 12th Street, was read and referred to the City Engineer. ,Communication from the Potter Radiator Corporation, request- ing that the Tideland Lease granted them be changed from 25 years to 50 years wae read, and ordered filed. ,Report of the City Engineer and St. Surerintendent, accept- ing the work of the Gilmore 0i1 Company for an Oil and Rock duet surface upon certain_ streets was read. Moved by Addis, seconded by Fritz that the Report be received and filed, and that the Pres- ident of the Board and the City Clerk be authorized to draw a war- rant on the Street Improvement Fund in favor of the Gilmore Oil Company for the sum of $1937.25, being 75% of the contract price. Carried, al] Truetees present voting aye. .Communication from the Oiivew000 Club, protesting against the speeding practiced on Highland Avenue wae read and ordered filed. ,Moved by Bird, seconded by Adoie that the City Attorney draw up the necessary papers to employ/an additional Traffic Officer. Carried. OPPIFANCF NO. , an Ordinance repealing Section 8 of Ordinance No. 540 and fixing the compensation and it's mode of _payment of certain officers and employees, was read. Moved by 6 Addis, seconded by Fritz that it be introduced and laic over under the rules and according to law. Carried. 208. • RESOLUTION NO. 1020 granting Chris Mikkeleon permission to collect garbage and rubbish within the 61ty, was read. Moved by Addis, seconded by Fritz that the Resolution be adopt- ed. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. ,P.ESOLUTION NO. 1021 adopting plat of District for the paving and other improvement of 7th Street from First Avenue to K. Avenue was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Cordingly, that the Street Department be instructed to remove the corrugated iron culverts on Seventh Street between First and K. Avenue. Carri e .Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz that Resolution No. 1021, adopting plat of District for the paving of Seventh Street from First Avenue to K. Avenue be adopted. Carried, all Truet- eee present voting aye. P.ESOIUTION OF INTENTION NO. 1022 to pave Seventh Street from First Avenue to K. Avenue was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 1023 to close the Easterly 10 feet of J. Avenue between 17th and 18th Streets was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Addis that the Resolution be adopted. • Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. •RESOLOTIOY NO. 1024 establishing the grade of the alleys in + Thelen's Pe -Subdivision and the alley between_ lots 2, 3, 4, and 5 of Exceleior ?lace, was read. Moved by Addis, seconded by Bird that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, ell Trustees pres- ent voting aye. ,TFe Finance Committee was given further time regarding Petition for Street Light on Division Street east of D. Avenue. ,The Fire Committee recommended that a Fire Hydrant be in- stalled at 6th Street and C. Avenue. Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly that a Fire Hydrant be installed at the Southeast corner of 6th Street and C. Avenue. Carried, all Trustees pres- ent voting aye. s 209. ' The City Engineer reported that he had advised the property owners to grade the alley between E. and F. Avenues and 4th and 5th Streets by private contract. 'Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird that the Petition of T. P. Frazer for an increase in salary be denied. Motion lost by the following vote: Addis --No; Bird --Aye; Cordingly-- Aye; Fritz --No; Murray --No. _Moved by Addis, seconded by Fritz that the Petition of T. P. Frazer for an increase in salary be granted. No further action taken. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Addis that the City Attorney be instructed to draw up an Ordinance organizing a Planning Commission.
