Trustees Present --Addis, Bird, Fritz, and Murray. Trustee Cordingly absent. Minute? of regular meeting of October 6, 1925, read, and approved. Carried, all Trueteee present voting aye. ,Mr. E. L. Bullen was present, representing the Chamber of Commerce, and stated that they had secured $200.00 towarde adver- tieing in the Union Annual, and asked that the Trueteee donate an additional $200.00. Moved by Bird, seconded by Fritz, that the sum of $2200.00 be appropiated towarde advertising in the Union Annual. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. ,Petition of John H. for permiseion to remove Curry, accompanied by four Eucalyptus trees deposit of $20.00 in front of hie property on Ea,t Eighteenth Street. Moved by Bird, seconded by Addie that perm3eeion be granted. Carried. ,Petition to grade by private contract the alleys between Division and First Streets, and also the names of same were read and referred to the City Engineer. d 201. r •Report of the City Engineer on Petition for the paving of Firet Avenue was read and ordered filed. ,Report of the City Engineer on the Petition for the pav- ing of Tenth Street was read and ordered filed. ,The City Marshall reported that complainte had been made regarding conditions on property er. Eaet Eighteenth Street. He was instructed to eee that the conditions were remedied. ,The Finance Committee were given further time regarding the Petition of T. P. Frazer for an increase of salary. ,The following bid received for the construction of an Oil and Rock Duet Surface on portions of Highland Avenue, Fourth Street, Eighth Street, Eighteenth Street, and Granger Avenue --- Gilmore Oil Company-42583.00. Same referred to City Engineer. .Bond of George Lewie, ae Side Walk Builder, was preeented. Moved by Bird, eeconded by Addis, that the Boni be approved, accepted, and ordered filed. Carried. ORDINANCE NO. An Ordinance amending Section_ 2 and 59 of Ordinance No. 538, providing a system of aeseesing, levy- ing, and collecting city taxes, was read. Moved by Fritz, eeconded by Bird, that it be introduced and layed over under the rules, according to law. Carried. ,PESOLUTION NO. 1015. Adopting Plat of Dietrict for grading and other improvements of porticne of certain etreete ani ave- nues West of National Avenue, was read. Moved by Fritz, eeconded by Addis that the Pesolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees preeent voting aye. .P.ESOLDTION FO. 1017. Of Intention_ for grading and other improvemente of certain streets West of National Avenue, was read. Moved by Fritz, eeconded by Bird, that the Resolution_ be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. ,Moved by Bird, seconded by Fritz, that the appointment of Mies Lucille Hard as Deputy City Clerk, be, and the same hereby approved, and her salary as such Deputy City Clerk fixed at $75.00 per month, payable by warrant on the firet day of each 202. 1 r calendar month, on the General Fund, salary to commence on the 13th day of October, 1925. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. .Report of the City Engineer on the Bid of the Gilmore Oi1 Company for the Conetructien of an 0i1 and Pock Duet Surface on certain streets, and recommending the acceptance of same, was read and ordered filed. ,RESOLUTION OF AWARD NO. 1016. Awarding the Contract to the Gilmore 0i1 Company for the conetructior of an 0i1 and Rock Duet Surface or. certain streets, read. Moved by Fritz, second- ed by Addis that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all True- teee present voting aye. .Moved by Bird, seconded by Addis, that the City Engineer be instructed to prepare plans and specifications for the con- struction of a concrete pavement on First Avenue, from the Northerly Line of Fourth Street, to the Pavement on Thirteenth Street. Aleo Tenth Street from the Easterly Line of Firet Ave- nue, to the Westerly Line of Highland Avenue. Moved by Addis, seconded by Bird, that the City Engineer establish the grade of alieye between Firet and Divieion Streets. Carried. .Moved by Addis, seconded by Fritz, that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare an 0rdinance, fixing ealary of men em- ployed by the Street Superintendart.
