Trustees present- Addis, Bird, Cordingly, Fritz and Murray. Minutes of regular meeting of November 18, 1924, read and approved. The following bills, audited by the Finance Committee, presented: J. H. TEE SEAGRAVE COMPANY. ,The following bide received for purchase of old Fire Truck from City, read: AMERICANILAFRANCE FIRE ENGINE COMPANY, INC. . . $500.00 THE SEAGRAVE COMPANY. . . 750.00 .Mr. H. P. Requa was present urging that the City try -to make arrangements to take a page in the San Diego Union Annual. .Communication from National City Chamber of Com- merce offering to pay $100.00 towards the payment for one page advertisement in the San Diego Union Annual and requesting that the City pay the balance, was read. ,Communication from Tripp -Arnold Company regarding bond of J. B. Fletcher, Sidewalk Builder, was read and ordered filed. .Communication from William Wickham requesting re- fund of $5.00 deposit for removal of tree was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Addis, that the request be granted. Carried. .Communication from City Recorder Edgerton, regarding salary of the Recorder was read and ordered filed. .Communication from Dr. W. D. Ralph, Health Officer, stating that if they would make salary $110.00 per month, he would continue as Health Officer and do all Diphtheria cultures without any additional charge, was read and ordered filed. •Communication from Mack -International Motor Truck Corporation requesting that the Board of Trustees reject all proposals received for New Fire Apparatus, was read and ordered filed. .Report of the Recorder for the month of November, 1924, presented and ordered filed. 133. .Application, accompanied by bond, of R. F. Montijo for renewal of Sidewalk Builder's License was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Addie, that the Bond be approved, ac- cepted and ordered filed. Carried. .The Finance Committee reported that arrangements could be made with the County Health Department at $150.00 and recommended that the City enter into a contract. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the City Attorney pre- pare a contract with the County Health Department for a period of six months. Carried. •The Fire Committee requested further time regarding installation of fire plug. .Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the City Attorney prepare an ordinance increasing salary of Fire Marshal to $150.00 per month. Carried. .Moved by Addie, seconded by Cordingly, that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare an ordinance raising the salary of Traffic Officer La Porte to $200.00 per month, also placing Officer Frazer on a monthly salary of $175.00. Carried. .Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the City Clerk be instructed to return check to Rogan & Company payable to Police Relief Fund. Carried. .Moved by Bird, seconded by Fritz, that the City con- tract to pay $300.00 towards the page advertisement in the San Diego Union Annual. Carried by the following vote: Ayes, True - tees - Addis, Bird, Fritz, Murray. Noes, Trustee- Cordingly. .Moved by Addis, seconded by Bird, that the City Attorney prepare the necessary papers for the closing of Alley in Block 4, National Avenue Terrace. Carried. .RESOLUTION N0. , Granting Franchise to the San Diego and Arizona Railway Company for spur track on portion of Ninth Avenue was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that it be introduced and laid over under the rules and ac- cording to law. Carried. 134. J ,RESOLUTION NO. 953, Ordering the work of Sidewalking and Curbing portions of First Avenue was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. ,RESOLUTION No. 954 OF INTENTION to Change and Establish the grade of Sixth Avenue from the Northerly line of Eighth Street to the Southerly line of Thirteenth Street, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. ,ORDINANCE NO. , Amending Section 6 of Ordinance No. 540 and Fixing the Salary of the Health Officer at $75.00 per month was read. Moved by Addis, seconded by Bird, that it be introduced and laid over under the rules and according to law. Carried. Moved by Addis, seconded by Fritz, that the Board ad- journ to Thursday, December 4, 1924, at 7 o'clock P.M. Carried.
