National City, Calif., Feb. 19, 1924.
Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees palled to order
by the President. Trustees present- Addis, Edgerton, Fritz,
Murray and Boulette.
Minutes of regular meeting of Feb. 5, 1924, and Special -
Meeting of Feb.-8, 1924, read and approved.
The following bills, audited by the Finance Committee
presented:

Moved by Murray, seconded by Fritz, that the bills be allowed
and warrants ordered drawn for same. Carried, all Trustees
present voting aye.
. Mr. Martin Schultz was present and requested permission to
top two Eucalyptus trees at Fourth Avenue and Thirteenth Street.
Moved by Edgerton, seconded by Addis, that the request be granted.
Carried.
.Application of E. 0. Williams for position as Inspector for
the construction of sidewalks, curbs and gutters on B, C and D
Avenues, was read.
. Communication from
Diego, addressed to Mr.
objections to the decreased width cf L Avenue in National City,
was read and ordered filed.
.Communication from property owners on Grove Street request-
ing permission to do some grading, was read. Moved by Fritz,
the Rues Lumber & Mill Company of San
C. B. Tyler, stating that they had no
seconded by Murray, that it be referred to City Engineer,
Carried.
.The Fire Chief submitted names of men he had appointed as
members of Fire Department. Moved by Edgerton,
that same be accepted. Carried.

'•RESOLUTION NO. 858, Creating the office of Inspector for the
construction of sidewalks, curbs and gutters on portions of B,
C and D Avenues and appointing E. 0. Williams as Inspector, was
read. Moved by Addies, seconded by Murray, that the resolution
be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
.The Finance Committee_ reported that they had Been Mr.
Hollenbeck regarding the removal of trees and that he would
see later about same.
.The Finance Committee reported they had investigated the
nuisance at Twelfth Street and First Avenue and considered that
building should be moved. The Health Officer also reported that
he could not declare same a menace to health. The matter referred
to the Police, Health and Morale Committee.
'.ORDINANCE NO. 536, Amending Section 2 of Ordinance No. 462
and Consolidating the Offices of Deputy Fire Marshal and Inspector
of Electricity, et cetera, was placed on final passage and on motion
by Murray, seconded by Fritz, same adopted, all Trustees present
voting aye.
d.ORDINANCE NO. 537, Amending Sections 4, 5 and 6 of Ordinance
No. 497 and Fixing the Compensation of Certain Officers, was placed
on final passage, and on motion by Addis, seconded by Fritz, same
adopted, all Trustees present voting aye.
.Bond of Frank M. Tattersall, Master Plumber, was presented.
Moved by Murray, seconded by Fritz, that the Bond be approved,
accepted and ordered filed. Carried.
..RESOLUTION NO. 859, Accepting Deeds for Street Purposes from
Charles W. and Mary A. Copeland, George H. and Nora E. Spicer,
Adelaide K. Schleuniger, Margaret and R. 0. Bridges, and William
and Cornelia Hess, was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Murray,
that the resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present
voting aye.
,Map of Bahia Vista Subdivision was presented. Moved by
Murray, seconded by Fritz, that eame be returned and be changed
to meet the approval of the City Assessor and City Engineer. Carried.
..RESOLUTION No. 860, Adopting Plat of District for grading,

et cetera, of portions of Second Street, Third Street, A Avenue,
E Avenue, F Avenue, and G Avenue, was read. Moved 'oy Fritz,
seconded by Murray, that the resolution be adopted. Carried,
all Trustees present voting aye.
•RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 861, For Grading and Other
Improvement of portions of Second Street, Third Street, A Avenue,
E Avenue, F Avenue and G Avenue, was read. Moved by Fritz,
seconded by Murray, that the resolution be adopted. Carried,
all Trustees present votinz aye.
.Moved by Murray, seconded by Fritz, that Dr. William D.
Rolph be and he ie hereby appointed City Health Officer. Carried.
.Moved by Addis, seconded by Murray, that the City Clerk
notify the Paradise Valley Sanitarium that a new Health Officer
has been appointed and that he will make his own arrangements
to take care of culture examinations. Carried.
.Moved by Murray, seconded by Addis, that the San Diego Con-
solidated Gas & Electric Company be granted permission to top
trees on the south side of Second Street between F and G Avenues,
provided they put a three foot extension on present poles. Carried.
Moved by Edgerton, seconded by Addis, that the Board adjourn.
Carried.
