Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees called to order
by the President. Trustees present- Addis, Bird, Cordingly,
Fritz and Murray.
Minutes of regular meeting of June 17, 1924, and of
Special Meetings of June 24, 1924, read and approved.
The following bills, audited by the Finance Committee,

Moved by Cordingiy, seconded by Fritz, that the bills be allowed
and warrants ordered drawn for same. Carried, all Trustees
present voting aye.
Petition of Citizens to grade portions of Sixteenth Street
at Lanoitan Avenue and to install drainage, was read and re-
ferred to the Superintendent of Streets.
,Communication from C. F. Guthridge regarding Tide Land
Lease was read. Moved by Cordingiy, seconded by Addis, that
the City Clerk be instructed to answer same saying that the
City would expect him to carry out the terms of lease. Carried.
•otition of San Diego & Arizona Ry. Co. for permission to
construct spur track on 9th Avenue was read. Moved by Bird,
seconded by Cordingly, that the San Diego & Arizona Ry. Co.
be notified by the City Attorney that it is the sense of this

Board that said Company should put the pavement in good con-
dition between its rails and for two feet on each side thereof
on National Avenue between let and 13th Streets before it is
given a franchise on any other streets. Carried.
.Communication from the Library Board requesting that
Mrs. Sara M. Spafford and Mr. C. R. Shatto be appointed mem-
bers of the Library Board of Trustees, was read. Moved by
Cordingly, seconded by Addis, that Mre. Sara M. Spafford and
Mr. C. R. Shatto be appointed members of the Library Board
of Trustees. Carried.
•Report of the Recorder for the month of June, 1924, pre-
sented and ordered filed.
•Annual report of the Librarian for year ending June 30,
1924, presented and ordered filed.
.Appeal of M. Gertrude Mariam, also appeals of Mrs. Anita
T. Bertele and others and R. Philip Scheuerman and othere, in
the matter of certain assessments for the improvement of por-
tions of B, C and D Avenues were presented.
'.RESOLUTION N0. 907, Setting time for hearing of appeals
of property owners against aseeeements on B, C and D Avenues
was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly,that the
Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting
aye.
.Protest of Mre. Anita T. Bertele and others against pro-
posed improvement of portions of Second and Third Streeta, A,
E, F and G Avenues was presented.
kRESOLUTION N0. 908, Denying and Overruling protest of
Mre. Anita T. Bertele and others against proposed improvement
of portions of Second and Third Streets, A, E, F and G Avenues,
was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Bird, that the Resolution
be adopted. Carried by the following vote: Ayes, Trustees:
Addis, Bird, Fritz and Murray; Nays, Trustee: Cordingly.
•RESOLUTION NO. 909, Authorizing Payment of Bonded Indebt-
• edneee due July 1, 1924, amounting to $418.75, was read. Moved
by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, that the Resolution be adopted.

Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
RESOLUTION NO. 910, Granting Permission to Jet 0i1 Company
to construct and maintain, during the pleasure of the Board, pipe
lines to the Municipal Pier, was read. Moved by Cordingly, second-
ed by Bird, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees
present voting aye.
'RESOLUTION NO. 911, Instructing City Engineer to prepare
estimate of cost and expense for the following Contemplated munic-
ipal improvements, to -wit: Fire Apparatus, etc., was read. Moved
by Bird, seconded by Addis, that the Resolution be adopted.
Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
-Estimate of City Engineer for the cost of certain contem-
plated municipal improvements, to -wit: Acquisition of Fire Appara-
tue, etc. and placing same at $15,000.00 was read and ordered
filed.
'.RESOLUTION NO. 912, Declaring and Determining that Public
Interest and Necessity Demand certain Municipal Improvements,
to -wit: the acquisition of Fire Apparatus, etc. at an estimated
cost of $15,000.00 was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Addis,
that the Resolution

*RESOLUTION NO. 914, ORDERING the work of paving portions
of Eighteenth Street and Granger Avenue was read. Moved by
Fritz, seconded by Addis, that the Resolution be adopted.
Carried by the following note: Ayes, Trustees: Addis, Fritz
and Murray; Nays, Trustees: Bird and Cordingly.
.ORDINANCE NO. , An Ordinance Amending Section 1* of
Ordinance No. 358 and Amending Section 1 of Ordinance No. 377,
