Carried. -Mr. E. Thelen was present and etated that it was impossible to make connection with the sewer from Lot 7 in Excelsior Place. Same was referred to the City Engineer. .Petition of the Pacific Telephone & Telegraph Company to trim certain trees on Second Street between D and E Avenues was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Addis, that it be referred to the Street Committee. Carried. •Petition of citizens to grade Sixteenth Street Yeet at Lanoitan Avenue was read and the Clerk instructed to return same for more definite information; .Petition of William E. Cloe° requesting permission to sell fireworks was read and referred to City Marshal with power to act. • Communication from L. C. Ford regarding assessment for im— provement of B, C and D Avenues was read. Moved by Fritz, second ed by Addis, that it be referred to the City Engineer. Carried. • Petition of J. A. Burns, Night Watchman, for increase of salary was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that it be referred to the Police Committee. Carried. 85. 1 a =ORDINANCE N0. 540, Repealing Certain Ordinanoes and Fix- ing the Compensation of Certain Officers was placed on final passage, and on motion by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, same adopted, all Trustees present voting aye. .The Finance Committee reported progress in the matter of numbering houses and the audit of the Recorder's books. .Pursuant to Ordinance No. 539, the unsold balance of the Bond Issue authorized by a Special Election on July 7, 1920, numbered 54, 60, 66, 72, 78, 84, 90, 96, 102, 108, 114, 120, 126, 132, 138, 144, 150, 156, 162, 168, 174 and 180, were presented by City Clerk and samd destroyed in the presence of the Board of Trustees. .The report of the City Engineer on the bids for the grading and other improvement of portions of Second and Third Streets, A, E, F and G Avenues, reoommending the acceptance of the bid of J. Engebretsen, was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the bid be laid over until the neat meeting. Motion loot by the following vote: Ayes, Trustees: Addis, Fritz, Murray; Noes, Trustees: Bird, Cordingly. .The report of the City Engineer on the bids for the grading and other improvement of portion of Sixteenth Street, recommending the acceptance of the bid of R. G. Fenton, was read. 1 ,RESOLUTION NO. 901 OF AWARD to R. G. Fenton for the grading and other improvement of portion of Sixteenth Street was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Addis, that the resolution be ad- opted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. .Moved by Addis, seconded by Fritz, that the Resolution . of Award for the grading and other improvement of portion of Sixteenth Street be approved. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. RESOLUTION NO. 902, Directing City Engineer to furnish diagram for grading and other improvement of portion of I Avenue was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Cordingly, that the resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present vot- ing aye. g6. (RESOLUTION NO. 903, Approving Diagram of City Engineer for grading and other improvement of portion of I Avenue was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Addis, that the resolution be ad- opted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. .RESOLUTION NO. 904 OF INTENTION to Change and Establish the grade of Second Street from Highland Avenue to Laurel Avenue, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Addis, that the resolu- tion be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. Moved by Addis, seconded by Fritz, that the Board adjourn. Carried.
