car, damage caused by motorcycle officer. Same referred to City
Attorney.

• Mr. W. Seehorn vas _present regarding the alley in Block
15. Matter was referred to City Attorney.
▪ F. Salazar requested permission to top two trees in front
of property on Second Avenue between Eighth and Ninth Streets.
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, that the request be
granted. Carried.
.Petition of t. B. Adams for position as Deputy Marshal
was read and ordered filed.
.Communication from John Engebretsen requesting an ex—
tension of time for the grading etc. of portions of B, C and
D Avenues, was read and ordered filed.

and D Avenues was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Addis,
that the resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees °resent
voting aye.
• Petition of Citizens to have street lisnt installed at
Fifth Avenue and Twenty—second Street was read and referred
to Finance Comrr,ittee.
.Report of the Recorder for month of April, 1924, presented
and ordered filed.
.Report of City Engineer reearding protest of property
owners against proposed im': rovement of Second Street from the
Easterly line of First Avenue to Westerly line of Highland
Avenue was read and ordered filed.
;RESOLUTION NO. 888, Denying and Overruling protest of
property cot-nere against proposed improvement of Second Street
and other streets, was read. Moved by Addis, seconded by
Cordingly, that the resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees
present voting aye.
ORDINANCE NO. 539, Determining that the Unsold Balance of
Bond Issue voted at Special Election July 7, 1920 , of the £acO
value of22,000.00, be not Issued or Sold, was placed on final
+ assage andon motion pt' by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, same
adopted, all Trustees present voting aye.

,Bonds of City Clerk and City Treasurer were preeented,
Moved by Addis, seconded by Cordingly, that the Bonds of the
City Clerk and City Treasurer be approved, accepted and ordered
filed. Carried.
JRE^SOLUTION NO. 8E7, Accepting Deed of the San Diego Lands,
Inc.,wae read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Cordingly, that the
resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
LBFS0LT7T^N NO. 888 OF INTENTIOiu to Charge and Establish the
grade of portion of First Avenue was read. Moved by Fritz, second-
ed by Cordingly, that the resolution be adopted. Carried, all
Trustees present voting aye.
•Moved by Addis, seconded by Cordingly, that the Street Super-
intendent notify the owners of property cn First Avenue from Fourth
to Fourteenth Streets who_have not sidewalk and curb installed, that
unless same is put in within thirty days from date, same Will be
done by public contract and assessed against property. Carried.
.Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Addis, that the Street Depart-
ment be instructed to put in the pavement on Twenty-fourth Street
about Fifth Avenue and furnish the Board with a copy of the cost.

Addis, that the Board adjourn
to Tuesday, May 13, 1924, at the hour of 7:30 o'clock P.M.
