Trustees present- Addis, Bird, Cordingly, Fritz and Mu lay. Minutes of regular meeting of November 5, 1924, read and approved. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. ,Representative of the San Diego Union was present re- garding the City taking a page for the annual edition. Same was referred to the Finance Committee to report on at the next meeting. .Ibr. Richards was present regarding closing of 28th Street. .Mr. Spicer was present regarding the acceptance of streets in a Subdivision in 4 Section 129. .The following bide received for the $15,000.00 Fire Apparatus Bonds, read: Bank of Italy, Los Angeles, par plus accrued interest to date of delivery, together with a premium of $8.88. Freeman, Smith & Camp Co., Los Angeles, par, accrued interest and a premium of $41.00. 128. 1 4 - 4 The First National Bank, San Diego, ,$,'15,044.00 and accrued interest. Security Commertial &. Savings Bark, San Diego, par and accrued interest to date of delivery. 'RESOLUTION NO. 947, Accepting Bid of The First National Bank of San Diego, California, for the $15,000.00 worth of the Fire Apparatus Bonds was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, that the resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trus- tees voting aye. •Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, that the City Clerk be instructed to return certified checks accompanying bide of the unsuccessful bidders. Carried. Petition of A. J. Alexander to remove two trees on 4th Avenue in order to put in sidewalk and curb was read. Moved by Addis, seconded by Bird, that the petition be granted. Carried. ,Communication from Mrs. W. E. Choate requesting _ refund of $30.00 deposit for removal of trees at 918 E. 18th Street was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, that the deposit of $30.00 be refunded dirs. W. E. Choate. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. ,Petition of James A. Bird for increase in salary Was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that it be re- ferred to Fire Committee. Carried. Petition of property owners for a fire plug in the vicinity of 27th Street and D Avenue was read and referred to the Fire and Street Committees. .The Fire Committee reported that it would coat $806.00 to install fire plugs upon Second Street as requested in petition. ,The Finance Committee reported that it would not recommend increasing salary of Health Officer. •7Mcved by Fritz, seconded by Addis, that a committee be appointed with Trustee Cordingly as Chairman to see the t7elfare Commission regarding the care of indigent sick. Carried. _Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Addis, that the City Attorney be instructed to draw an ordinance increasing salary 129. of the Health Officer to $75.00 per month. Carried. •Moved by Ccrdingly, seconded by Addis, that the Health Officer be instructed to contract for the examination of cultures. Carried. .The Police Committee was given further time regarding matters referred to them. •The City Engineer reported that Ur. Palmanteer could connect with the sewer. .Resignatior of Dr. T. D. Ralph was read. Moved by Addis, seconded by Fritz, that it be not accepted. Carried. .Moved by Bird, seconded by Fritz, that the City Clerk be authorized to renew the fire insurance policy on the City Hall which expires November 21, 1924. Carried. 1RESOLUTIoN NO. 948, Instructing City Clerk to Advertise for bide for fire hose was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. _RESOLTTION NO. 949, Directing City Engineer to Furnish Specifications for new Fire Apparatus was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. RESOLUTION NO. 950, Approving Specifications of City Engineer for new Fire Apparatus :was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Adis, that the resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. .RESOLUTiON NO. 951, Directing City Clerk to Advertise for bide to purchase from the City of National City the old Fire Truck was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Addis, that .that the resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. .RESOLUTIONNO. 952, Directing City Clerk to Advertise for bide to sell to the City of National City new Fire Apparatus was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Addis, that the resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. 130. t Moved by Bird, seconded by Fritz, that the Board adjourn. Carried.
