Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees called to
order by the President. Trustees present- Addis, Bird,
Cordingly, Fritz and Murray.
Minutes of regular meeting of October 7, 1924, read
and approved.

.Mr. F. B. Mariam presented petition regarding fire
protection on Second Street.
Committee.
.Mr. J. E. Boal with the Sweetwater Water Corporation
was present to see if some arrangements could not be made *hereby
the Water Company would receive pay for water used by Contractors.
The Street Superintendent was instructed to notify Contractors
that it will be necessary to make arrangements with the Water
Company for the use of water.

.Communication from Mre. Ruby B. Smith regarding
assessment for the improvement of portions of B, C and D
Avenues was read and ordered filed.
.Petition of Mrs. W. E. Choate, accompanied by check
for $30.00, to remove six Eucalyptus trees at 918 E. 18th
Street was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Bird, that
the petition be granted. Carried.
.Communication from the Disabled American Veterans
of the World War requesting permission to sell Forget -me -
note on the streets Nov. 8th, was read. Moved by Bird,
seconded by Cordingly, that the request be granted. Carried.
.Communication from Rogan & Company extending their
appreciation of the co-operation in making their barbecue
a success, was read and ordered filed.
'Communication from the Kelley Laundry Company request-
ing that the $10.00 bail or fine, collected from H. L. Duncan
on May 16th, 1924, be returned, was read and referred to the
City Attorney.
'Protest of property owners against the assessments
for the improvement of Sixteenth Street was read and ordered
filed.

.RESOLUTION OF AWARD NO. 93? to Richards & Bowman,Inc.
for one Ford Truck and one Fordson Tractor was read. Moved by
Cordingly, seconded by Addis, that the Resolution be adopted.
Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
RESOLUTION NO. 938, Granting Extension of time to
The Blackman Terminals, Inc. for making improvements upon
tide -lands was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Addis, that
the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present
voting aye.
RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 939 for the Construction
of Sidewalk and Curbing on First Avenue was read. Moved by
Fritz, seconded by Addis, that the Resolution be adopted.
Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
RESOLUTION NO. 940, Approving diagram of City Eng
ineer for improvement of portions of Second andThird Streets,
A, E, F and G Avenues, was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by
Bird, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees
present voting aye.
,ORDINANCE N0. , An Ordinance Amending Sections
2 and 13 of Ordinance No. 525, Establishing Fire Limits in
the City of National City, was read. Moved by Bird, seconded
by Cordingly, that it be introduced and laid over under the
rules and according to law. Carried.
The Finance Committee was given further time re-
garding the increase in salary of the Health Officer.
•The matter of drainage at the Camp Grounds was
referred to the Street Committee and City Engineer.
.The City Marshal reported that he could have addi-
tional bunko installed at the City Jail at $15.00 each. Moved
by Addis, seconded by Fritz, that the City Marshal be instructed
to have three additional bunks installed in the City Jail.
Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.

.Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the salary
of Deputy City clerk, Margaret Bencini, be made $75.00 per
calendar month, beginning November lst. Carried, all Trustees
present voting aye.
.The proposition of establishing a Police Relief Fund
was referred to the Police Committee, and the check for $50.00
from Rogan & Company to be held until the matter is settled.
Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the Board
adjourn to Wednesday, November 5th, 1924, at 7:30 o'clock
P.M. Carried.
