Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees called to order
by the President. Trustees present- Addis, Bird, Cordingly,
Fritz and Murray.
Minutes of regular adjourned meeting of August 27, 1924,
read and approved.

The Board of Trustees now opened the ballot box

1924.
,RESOLUTION NO. 925, Declaring the Result of the Special
Election Held August 28, 1924, was read. Moved by Addis, seconded
by Bird, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees

A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULT OF A SPECIAL
ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CAL-
IFORNIA, OF AUGUST 28th, 1924.
WHEREAS, a Special Election was held in the City of
National City, California, on the 28th day of August, 1924,
pursuant to Ordinance No. 542, duly passed and adopted by the
Board of Trustees of said City by more than a two-thirds vote,
on the 22nd day of July, 1924, entitled:
°An Ordinance Calling a Speoial Election to be
held in the City of National City, California,
on the 28th day of August, 1924, and Submitting
to the Qualified Voters of said City a Propoeition
for'the Incurring of Bonded Indebtedness, and
Designating the Election Precinct and Polling
Place, and Appointing Election Officers for such
Special Election, and Fixing their Compensation.'
AND, WHEREAS, the said Special Election was held in said
City on said day, and at said election the proposition mentioned
in said ordinance was voted on; and
WHEREAS, the Election Board for said election has reported
the result thereof to thie Board of Trueteee, and the returns
thereof have been at a regular meeting of this Board of Trustees
held on the 2nd day of September, 1924, publicly opened, examined
and canvassed, and the votes for and against the said proposition
have been duly estimated, and the result thereof determined and
established,
NOV, THEREFORE, the Board of Trustees of the City of
National City, California, hereby resolves, that the result of
eaid election is, and is hereby declared to be as follows:
The whole number of votes oast at said election was
481 on the proposition, which reads as follows:

'Shalt the City of National City incur
a bonded indebtedness in the sum of 315,000.00
for the acquisition of fire apparatus consisting
of a triple combination pumping, ehemical and hose
automobile trunk and other equipment for fighting
fires?°
That all of said votes ware valid and legal votes, of
which there were oast in favor of the proposition submitted
at said election 448 votes; and against the proposition
submitted at ouch eleotion 33 votes.
That the votes cast in favor of the proposition consti-
tute more than two-thirds of the votes of all voters voting
at euch special election.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of Trueteee of the City of
National City, California, do hereby declare that the proposition
submitted at eaid election, as hereinbefore more specifically set
out, was carried by more than two-thirde of the votes of all the
voters voting at such special election, and as provided by law.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is horeby

directed to certify the passage of this Resolution by the Board
of Trustees of the City of National City, California.
Passed and adopted by the Board of Trustees of the City
of National City, California, this and day of September
1934, by the following vote, to -wit:
AYES, TRUSTEES: Addis, Bird, Cordingly, Fritz,

Trustees of the said City of National City is five (5); That
upon the and day of September , 1934, eaid Board con -
stated of the following members, to -grit: A. J. Addis, D. W. Bird
Wm. Cordingly, J. A. Fritz, Alex Murray
and that upon eaid date (September 2, 1934), the Resolution
hereto attached, (Resolution No. 935 ) wae duly passed and
adopted by eaid Board by a vote of more than two-thirds (2/3)
of its members, and that it was passed by the following vote,
to -wit:

Resolution as follows:
.Mrs. Graham was present and stated that the fence
around her property had been removed by the Contractor making
the improvement of Second Street and requested that the Board
of Trustees see that same was replaced. Same was referred to
the Finance Committee.
'Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Addis, that the appeal
of John Engebreteen on the corrected modified asseesment for
B, C and D Avenues bearing date of July 18, 1924, be denied
and overruled. Carried.
KRESOLUTION NO. 926, Rejecting Certain Bids heretofore
filed with the Clerk for the paving of portions of Eighteenth
Street and Granger Avenue and Directing the Clerk to Re -advertise
for Sealed Proposale was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Addis,
that the Resolution be adopted. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes, Trustees- Addis, Fritz, Murray. Nays, Trustees_ Bird and
Cordingly.
ii0RDINANCE NO. 543, Authorizing the Leasing of Certain Tide
Lando of the City of National City to the Potter Radiator Corp-
oration was placed on final passage, and on motion by Bird, second-
ed by Cordingly, same adopted, all Trustees present voting aye.

Communication from the Board of Supervisors regarding
an all-time Health Department for the County of San Diego and
stating that the incorporated cities could co-operate with the
County if they so wish, was read and referred to the Finance
Committee.
,Communication from the Adjutant Generale office at
Sacramento regarding the plane of the Secretary of War to
set aside Friday, September 12, 1924, as Defense Day, was read
and referred to Trustee Bird.
,Report of the Recorder for the month of August, 1924,
presented and ordered filed.
%ORDINANCE NO. , An Ordinance Fixing the ?.ate
and Levying the Taxes for the Fiscal Year 1924-1925, was read.
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that it be introduced
and laid over under the rules and according to law. Carried.
,RESOLUTION NO. , Granting Franchise to The
Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway -Company for Railway Tracks
across Nineteehth and Twenty-fourth Streets was read. Moved
by Fritz, seconded by Cordingly, that it be introduced and laid
over under the rules and according to law. Carried.

.RESOLUTION NO. 927, Changing and Establishing the grade
of Second Street from the Easterly line of Highland Avenue to
the Westerly line of Laurel Avenue, was read. Moved by Cordingly,
seconded by Addis, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all
Trustees present voting aye.
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Addis, that the Board
adjourn. Carried.
