Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees called to
order by the President. Trustees present- Addis, Bird,
Cordingly, Fritz and Murray.
Minutes of regular meeting of Sept. 2, 1924, read
and approved.

Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, that the bills be
allowed and warrants ordered drawn for the same. Carried,
all Trustees present voting aye.
,Mr. R. B. Kemp was present and requested that a tree
in A Avenue and 24th Street be removed. Moved by Fritz,
seconded by Addis, that it be referred to the City Engineer.
Carried.
OMr. O'Connell requested permission to install gasoline
pump in sidewalk at 26th Street and National Avenue. Moved
by Ad9ie, seconded by Fritz, that the request be granted,
work to be done under the supervision of the City Engineer
and Fire Chief. Carried.
.Bill of Mrs. Lillie Waters for refund for the improvemmnt
of K Avenue was read and referred to the City Engineer.
Communication from the State Board of Health, Sacramento,
regarding the annual meeting of the League of Municipalities at
Del Monte on Oct. 6th to loth inclusive, was read. Moved by
Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the communication be filed.

.Communication from Osborn G. Austin regarding grading
of 16th Street was read and ordered filed.
Communication from La Follette and Wheeler Club of
San Diego County was read and referred to the City Marshal.
;Communication from the National City Library Trustees
stating that Mrs. Anna R. Owen had resigned and requesting that
Mre. Gertrude H. Silver be appointed to serve out the unexpired
term was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Addis, that the
resignation of Mrs. Anna R. Owen as a member of the Board of
Library Trueteee be accepted. Carried.
,Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Addis, that Mre.
Gertrude H. Silver be appointed a member of the Board of
Library Trustees to serve out the unexpired term of Mre. Anna
R. Owen. Carried.
,Communication from the National City Chamber of Commerce
recommending that parking epacee be marked on National Avenue
between 7th and 9th Streets and on 8th Street between National
and A Avenues was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird,
that it be referred to the Street Committee with power to act.
Carried.
•Communication. from J. A. Burns requesting an increase
of salary was read and referred to the City Attorney and Police
Committee.
.The following bide received for the paving of portions
of 18th Street and Granger Avenue, read:
KING S. HEATH
2 inch bituminous macadam pavement
per square foot 8-9/10 cents.
PIONEER TRUCK CO.
2 inch bituminous macadam pavement
per square foot 8-88/100 cents.
,Moved by Addis, seconded by Fritz, that the bide be
referred to the City Engineer. Carried.

Petition of property owners for a fire plug was read
and referred to the Fire Committee.
'Communication from H. G. Fenton requeeting an extension
of Sixty days time for the completion of the grading, etc. of
16th Street from National Avenue to Highland Avenue was read.
.RESOLUTION NO. 928, Granting Extension of Sixty Days
Time to H. G. Fenton for the improvement of 16th Street was
read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Addie, that the Resolution
be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
I.ORDINANCE NO. 544, Fixing the Rate at $1;72 and Levying
the Taxes for the Fiscal Year 1924-25 was placed on final
passage, and on motiontby Bird, seconded by Cordingly, same
adopted, all Trustees present voting aye.
.Report of the City Engineer on the bide for paving
portions of 18th Street and Granger Avenue and recommending
that the bid of Pioneer Truck Co. be accepted was read and
ordered filed.
%RESOLUTION OF AWARD NO. 929 for the paving of portions
of l8th Street and Granger Avenue was read. Moved by Fritz,
seconded by Addis, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried,
by -the following vote: Ayes, Trustees: Addis, Fritz, Murray;
Noes, Trustees: Bird, Cordingly.
RESOLUTION NO. 930, Granting Franchise to The Atchison,
Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company to construct tracks across
19th and 24th Streets, was placed on final passage, and on
motion by Cordingly, seconded by Addis, same adopted, all
Trustees present voting aye.
,RESOLUTION NO. 931, Directing the City Engineer to
furnish diagram for grading and other improvement of portion
of loth Street was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Addis,
that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present
voting aye.
%RESOLUTION NO. 932, Approving diagram of City Engineer
for grading and other improvement of portion of 16th Street
was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Addis, that the Resolution

be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
RESOLUTION NO. 933, Authorizing the Payment of
Bonded Indebtedness due Sept. 15, 1924, amounting to
$10,200.00 was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz,
that the Resolution be adopted. Carriers, all Trustees present
voting aye.
,ORDINANCE NO. , An Ordinance Providing for the
Issuance of Bonds in the Sum of $15,000.00 for the Acquisition
of Fire Apparatue was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by
Cordingly, that it be introduced and laid over under the rules
and according to law. Carried.
.The Finance Committee reported regarding replacing of
fence of Mrs. Graham and recommended that same be done. Moved
by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the Street Superintendent
see that the Contractor replaces same. Carried.
Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the Board
adjourn to Tuesday, Sept. 23, 1924, at 7:30 o'clock P.M.
Carried.
