Trustees present,- Addis, Boulette, Fritz, Murray and Edgerton. Minutes of regular meeting of March 20th, 1923 read and approved. The following bills audited by the Finance Committee presented: L. K. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. Resignation of Miles S.Edgerton ae President of the Board of Trustees to take effect at the adjournment of the meeting of April 3, 1923, was read. Moved by Murray, seconded by Addis that the resignation be accepted. Carried. 217. / -Application of Wm_. Cordingly for the position of sidewalk Inspector, was read. Moved by Murray, seconded by Addis that the application be accepted and filed. Carried. Petition of George Vaselior for the transfer of Pool Hall License of F. L. Lester, was read. Moved by Murray, seconded by Fritz that the petition be granted. Carried. Communication from W. S.Carvell requesting that a Fire Hydrant be installed at 13th Street and National Avenue, was read. Moved by Goulette, seconded by Fritz that a Fire Hydrant be installed on the East side of National Avenue on 13th Street. Carried. ✓-RESOLUTION NO. 794 Regarding Gasoline Tax and Motor Vehicle Fund, was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Roulette that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees pre- sent voting aye. v RESOLUTION NO. 795 Requesting our representatives in the Legislature to oppose the passage of Assembly Bills Nos. 529 and 649 and any other bills designed to limit or prohibit the imposition of licenses by municipalities, was read. Moved by Goulette, seconded by Addis that the Reso- lution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. -Applications of F. A.Crandall,_Wm. 0. Bird and A. Ellura Plank for the position of City Treasurer, were read and ordered filed. .Report of the Recorder for the month of March, 1923 was read and ordered filed. The Street Committee reported that they would recom- mend that the request to narrow A Avenue between Second and Third Streets be denied. Moved by Addis, seconded by Murray that the report be accepted. Carried. -The City Attorney reported that he did not see how the City could open 20th Street between C and D Avenues. Moved by Addis, seconded by Boulette, that the report be accepted. Carried. 218. 'Moved by Fritz, seconded by Boulette, that the property owners on 30th Street get together and see if they cannot get same opened. Carried. ORDINANCE NO. 524 Providing for the Incarceration of Prisoners in the County Jail, was placed on final passage and on motion by Fritz, seconded by Goulette, same adopted, all Trustees present voting aye. .ORDINANCE N0. 525 Establishing Fire Limits, Regulating Construction and Equipment of Buildings and Providing Pen- alties for the Violation Thereof, was placed on final passage and on motion by Boulette, seconded by Murray, same adopted, all Trustees present voting .aye. ✓.RESOLUTION N0. 796 Authorizing Payment of Bonded Indebted- ness due April 1, 1923, amounting to $1060.00, was read. Moved by Fritz , seconded by Boulette that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. ORDINANCE NO. Repealing Section 1 of Ordinance No. 385, Regarding Building Permits, was read. Moved by Murray, seconded by Addis that it be introduced and laid over under the rules and according to law. Carried. ORDINANCE NO. An Ordinance Amending Section 6 of Ordinance No. 505, Regarding Datum Line, Width of Side- walks, etc. was read. Moved by Murray, seconded by Addis that it be introduced and laid over under the rules and according to law. Carried. ✓RESOLUTION OF INTENTION N0. 797 To Construct Sidewalk and Curbing on Portions of Ninth Street, was read. Moved by Murray, seconded by Boulette that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. -Moved by Boulette, seconded by Fritz that we reconsider the motion accepting the resignation of L.K.Ogden as City Treasurer. Carried. Moved by Murray, seconded by Boulette that the resigner tion of L. K.Ogden,City Treasurer, be not accepted. Carried. 219. ''Moved by Murray, seconded by Addis, that Trustee Boulette be elected President of the Board of Trustees. Carried. ''RESOLUTION NO. 798 Creating the Office and Appoint- ing Inspector for the grading and other improvement of Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Streets, was read. Moved by Boulette, seconded by Addis that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. Moved by Boulette, seconded by Addis that the property owners on 18th Street be given permission to grade 18th Street from P Avenue to Lanoitan Avenue by private contract, to the official grade and under the Supervision of the Superintendent of Streets.
