Trustees present,— Addis, Edgerton, Fritz, Murray and Boulette. Minutes of regular meeting of April 3rd, 1923 read and arproved. The President of the Board announced the standing committees as follows: "FINANCE & ACCOUNTS --Murray, Addis, Edgerton. 'STREETS & PUBLIC PROPERTY-- Fritz, Edgerton, Murray. WATER SUPPLY AND FIRE DEPT.-- Edgerton, Fritz, Addis. POLICE, PTJBLIC HEALTH & MORALS-- Addis, Murray, Fritz. The following bills, audited by a majority of the Finance Committee presented: Burrough's Adding Mch. Co. James A.Bird Sweetwater Water. Corpn. S. D.Cons'd. Gas S. Elec. Co. Leonard Scott A. E. McFarland Hercules Powder Co. Laws' Veterinary Hospital Homeland Bldg. Co. J. P.Adams H. Harris S. L. Babcock Rodney Stokes Co. G. A. Huebert Care,per St. Dept. Hydrants, Lights & St. Dept. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. -Moved by Edgerton, seconded by Addis, that the matter of an Electric Sign be referred to the Finance Committee. Carried. .The matter of Sewer connections on D Avenue between 7th and 8th Streets, was referred to the City Engineer and Street Committee. Petition of Geo. S. Davis to remove five eucalyptus trees and agreeing to replace by others was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Edgerton that the petition be granted. Carried. 221. ✓ Communication from the Fire Committee recommending that Section 3 of Ordinance No. 507 be amended, *as read. Moved by Edgerton, seconded by Fritz, that it be accepted. Carried. It was then referred tc the City Attorney. Reporte of the Clerk and Treasurer for the Quarter ending March 31, 1923, were ;presented and ordered filed. -The matter of painting the pavement on First Street was referred to the Street Committee. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Edgerton, that the Street Superintendent be instructed not to lower any more sewer connections. Carried. -It now being the time set for the hearing of notice to abate nuisance on Lot 13, Block 273, as shown by affidavit of W. S.Carvell, Fire Marshal, W. S.Carvell was sworn and testified as to conditions existing on eaid Lot, stating that he considered the building a menace. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Addis, that it be laid over to the next meeting and the City Engineer report as to the estimated cost of the moving and report on conditions of property. Carried; And it also being the time set for the hearing of notice to abate nuisance on Lot 2, Block 209, as shown by affidavit of W. S. Carvell, Fire Marshal, W. S.Carvell was sworn and testified as to conditions existing on said Lot, stating that he considered it a menace. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Edgerton that it be laid over to the next meeting and the City Engineer report as to the estimated cost of the moving and report on conditions of property. Carried. •ORDINANCE NO. 526 Repealing Section 1 of Ordinance No. 385, Regarding Building Permits, was placed on final passage and on motion by Fritz, seconded by Murray, same adopted, all Trustees present voting aye. •ORDINANCE N0. 527, Amending Section 6 of Ordinance No. 505 regarding Datum Line, Primal Bench Mark, Official Grade, Curb Elevations, Gutter Depth and Width of Sidewalks, 222 / was placed on final passage, and on motion by Fritz, seconded by Edgerton, same adopted, all Trustees present voting aye. RESOLUTION NO. 799 Instructing the City Engineer to prepare estimate for coet of contemplated improvements, paving certain streets, construction of City Hall and acquisition of Fire Apparatus, was read. Moved by Murray, seconded by Fritz that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. J RESOLUTION NO. 800, Ordering Work for paving strips on National Avenue, First to Sixth Streets, was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Murray, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. Estimate of the City Engineer for paving certain streets, construction of City Hall and Acquisition of Fire Apparatus, eho»nng estimates as follows: Paving - $65,000.00, City Hall - $30,000.00, Fire Apparatus - $15,000.00, was read and ordered filed. d. RESOLUTION NO. 801 Declaring, and determining that the Public Interest and Necessity demand certain Municipal im- provements at a cost of $110,000.00, was read. Moved by Murray, eecond'd by Fritz, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. loved by Edgerton, seconded by Fritz, that the Board adjourn. Carried.
