Trustees present,— Addis, Edgerton, Fritz, Hurray and Roulette. Minutes of regular meeting of April 17, 1923 read and approved. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. -Mr. D. Schaenbaecchly was present and requested per— ;iesion to remove trees at 8th Street and I Avenue. Same was referred to the Street Committee. Mr.' Ray M. Barrie requested permission to remove one tree in frnnt of his property on let Street, stating he Would replace with others. Moved by Murray, seconded by Addis that the petition be granted. Carried. 224. v The proposition of a street adjoining Mr. Roberts property at 23th Street and Highland Avenue, was referred to the City Engineer and Attorney. .Moved 5y Fritz, seconded by Murray, that there be in- cluded in the Bond issue the sum of $40,000.00 for a pier. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. The question of additional pavement to be included in the Bond Issue was referred to the Street Committee and City Engineer. The proposition cf renting room over the City Hall was referred to the Police Committee. Application of Mrs. Annie M. Hoover to serve on the Election Board at the coming Bond Election, was read and ordered filed. Peyition of L. J. Emde to be appointed a Deputy Marshal was read and referred to the Police Committee. The proposition of purchasing a siren at the Fire Hall was referred to the Fire Committee. The City Engineer Ireland was sworn and testified re- garding conditions existing on Lot 13, Block 273; stated that he considered the building very dangerous and impossible to repair; estimated the cost from $150 to $200 to remove building and clean up property. He was then sworn and testified regarding conditions on Lot 2, Block 209; stated that he did not consider the wall very dangerous, but was unsightly and should be torn down; estimated cost about $100 to tear it down. Moved by Addis, seconded by Edgerton that the hearing regarding the abatement of the nuisance on Lot 13, Block 273 be continued to the next meeting. Carried. Moved by Murray, seconded by Fritz, that the hearing regarding the abatement of the nuisance on Lot 2, Block 209 be continued to the next meeting. Carried. 225. The Finance Committee submitted a letter from the San Diego Consolidated Gas & Electrical Company showing the cost of an electric sign to be located at the entrance to the City, to be $550.00, with a charge of $10.16 per month. The matter was continued. ✓RESOLUTION N0. 802 Authorizing payment of extra com- pensation to the City Treasurer from April 1, 1922 to April 1, 1923, was read. Moved by Edgerton, seconded by Murray, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. v RESOLUTION NO. 803 Appointing Deputy City Assessor dur- ing May and June, 1923, was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Addis that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. ORDINANCE NO. Amending Section 3 of Ordinance No. 507, regarding salary of Fire Chief, Firemen and Captain, was read. Moved by Edgerton, seconded by Murray, that it be introduced and laid over under the rules and according to law. Carried. Moved by Murray; seconded by Addis, that the Board adjourn. Carried.
