Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees called to
order by the President. Trustees present,- Edgerton, Fritz,
Murray and Boulette. Addis late.
Minutes of regular meeting of May let, 1923 read and
approved.
The following bills, audited by a majority of the
Finance Committee presented:

The matter was referred to the Street Committee.
R. G.Stewart was present and complained of noise
caused by renting room over the City Hall and same was
referred to the Police Committee.
. Mr. E. D. Carpenter requested permission to remove five
eucalyptus trees on 14th Street and 3rd Avenue, agreeing to
replace with others. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Edgerton
that the request be granted. Carried.

'Petition of Citizens for a Street Light at Eighth Street
and Arcadia Avenue was read and referred to the Street
Committee.
The following bids for the paving of strips on national
Avenue, First to Sixth Streets, received:
Olof Nelson - 23-9/10 Cents per square foot.
Pioneer Truck Co.- 20•9A
Moved by Fritz, seconded by Murray that the bids be
referred to the City Engineer. Carried.
• The matter of purchasing Automobile Registration at
$20.00 per year was referred to the Police Committee.
Communication from the Sweetwater Water Corporation
stating that a charge of 078.10 would be made for installing
Fire Plug at 13th Street & National Ave..ue, was read and
referred to the Water Committee.
•Report of the Recorder for the month of April, 1923,
was presented and ordered filed.
•Lioved by Fritz, seconded by Addis, that i:r. D.
Schaenbaecchly be granted permission to remove trees at
Eighth Street and I Avenue as requested May let, 1923.
Carried.
•The Police Committee reported they had rented the room
over the City Hall to a Mexican Secret Organization at $10.00
per month, also the committee had been to the expense of
$20.00 for rewiring same.
•Moved by Murray, seconded by Addis that the matter of
a Fire Hydrant at 13th Street and National Avenue be re-
ferred to the Fire Committee with power to act. Carried.
Ordinance No. 528, Amending Section 3 of Ordinance
No. 507 regarding salary of Fire Chief, Firemen and Captain,
was placed on final passage and cn motion by Murray, seconded
by Fritz, eame adopted, all Trustees present voting aye.
✓ RESOLUTION NO. 804 Ordering Abatement of Nuisance on
Lot 2, Block 209, was read and on motion by Edgerton, seconded
by Murray, same adopted, all Trustees present voting aye.

RESOLUTION YO. 805 Ordering Abatement of the nuisance
on Lot 13, Block 273, was read and on motion by Murray,
seconded by Fritz, same adopted all Trustees present voting
aye.
/. RESOLUTIONT NO. 806 Repealing and Rescinding Reso-
lution 1o. 801 regarding the necessity of a bond issue,
was read, and on motion by Edgerton, seconded by Addis,
same adopted, all Trustees present voting aye.
✓RESOLUTION NO. 907 Instructing the City Engineer to
prepare an estimate for cost of contemplated improvement, -
paving of certain streets, construction of City Hall, Fire
Apraratus and the construction of a wharf, was read, and
on motion by Murray, seconded by Addis, came adopted, all
Trustees present voting aye.
Estimate of the City Engineer for paving certain streets,
etc. was read and ordered filed.
[RESOLUTION NO. 808 Declaring and Determining that the
public interest and necessity demand certain improvements
reciting the estimated cost to be $$157,500.00, was read,
and on motion by Addis, seconded by Murray, same adopted,
all Trustees present voting aye.
•Moved by idurray, seconded by Edgerton, that the matter
of closing certain etreete during the celebration to be
held May 25th and 26th, be referred to the Street Committee
with power to act. Carried.
.The matter of a drinking fountain at 8th Street and
National Avenue maa referred to the Water and Fire Committee.
Moved by Fritz, seconded by Addis that the Board
adjourn. Carried.
