Trustees present- Addis, Edgerton, Fritz, Murray and Boulette. Minutes of regular meeting of Nov. 6, 1923, read and approved. Labor 84.50 " " " 14.00 Park Labor 52.00 Total $613.49 Moved by Murray, seconded by Fritz, that the bills be allowed and warrants ordered drawn for the same. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. ,The proposition of a water main to the Schiefer Furniture Manufacturing Company was referred to the City Attorney. ,Application of C. B. Hille for position as Inspector on B, C and D Avenues was read and ordered filed. -Petition of Mrs. Ka lard to install gasoline pump on 7th Avenue and 18th Street was read. Moved by Addis, seconded by Fritz, that the petition be granted. tarried. •Comrrunioation from the National City Laundry requesting that a license be charged for outside laundry wagons was read and referred to the Finance Committee. .Communication from F. L. Wade requesting that a refund on personal tax for the year 1923-24 was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Edgerton, that a warrant in favor of F. L. Wade be drawn on the General Fund for the sum of $5.16 account of error in making assessment for fiscal year 1923-24. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. 32. , Mr. James Maxwell was present and requested permission to remove four Eucalyptus trees in front of his property at 1411 Third Avenue. Same was referred to the Finance Committee. . The Chairman of the Street Committee, to whom the petition for a street light at 18th Street and Granger Avenue was re- ferred, reported that it would be impossible to install the light at the present time, as there were no poles in that vicinity. iMoved by Fritz, seconded -by Murray, that a street light be installed at the intersection of 6th Street and First Avenue. Carried. . The City Engineer recommended that the grade be estab- lished on Grove Avenue from 18th Street to 22nd Street. Moved by Murray, seconded by Addis, that the City Engineer be instruct= ed to establish grade on Grove Avenue from 18th Street to 22nd Street. Carried. ✓.RESOLUTION No. 843, granting Franchise to Spreckels Bro- there Commercial Company for a spur track on 9th Avenue and Twenty-fourth Street, introduced Nov. 6, 1923, was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Addis, that the Resolution be adopt- ed. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. ORDINANCE No. 532, regulating the removal of trees and providing for replacement of same, was placed on final passage, and on motion of Addis, seconded by Edgerton, same was adopted, all Trustees present voting aye. . Moved by Fritz, seconded by Addis, that the appointment of Miss Margaret Bencini as Deputy City Clerk be and the same 3b hereby approved, and her salary fixed as such Deputy Clerk at $65.00 per month, payable by warrant the first day of each calendar month on the General Fund, salary to commence on the l6th day of Nov. 1923. Carried. • Petition of Adolph Levi, Edgar B. Levi and H. G. Fenton A to construct a railway track over certain streets and alleys was read and referred to the City Attorney and City Engineer. 33. ,Moved by Addis, seconded by Edgerton, that the City Marshal notify owners of property on the east side of D Avenue between Division Street and First Street to have sidewalk and curb constructed within thirty days, same to be done under the supervision of the Superintendent of Streets and the City Engineer.
