Trustees present- Addis, Edgerton, Fritz, and Boulette. Murray absent. Minutes of regular meeting of September 4th, 1923 read and approved. Labor 71.50 " Supplies .50 Park, Labor 48.00 Total $441.83 Moved by Addis, seconded by Fritz, that the bills be allowed and warrants ordered drawn for the same. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. 'Mr. L. Lewellyn was present and requested permission to remove two euoalyptus trees on llth Street between 2nd and 3rd avenSes and agreed to replace with other trees. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Addis that the request be granted, pro- vided other trees are planted. Carried. -Communications from Lula M.Riggle, Amelia E. Yeager, et al and Jennie F. Griffin regarding assessments for the improvement of 5th, 6th and 7th Streets, were read and referred to the City Attorney and City Engineer. Petition of Leo. J. Stenzel and E J Chambers to remove trees on F Avenue between 6th and 7th Streets and cut curbing for driveways, was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Edgerton that the petition be granted. Carried. 17. Q • ORDINANCE NO. 531 Fixing the Rate and Levying the Taxes for the Fiscal year 1923-1924 at $1.73, *as placed on final passage and on motion by Fritz, seconded by Addis same adopted, all_Trustees present voting aye. • The Spreckels Brothers Commerical 4emmesefe& Company filed petitions to construct an industrial spur track from the Ban Diego & Arizona Railway Co., also one from the Atchison, Topeka & Saanta Fe Railway Coe. main line, and that a portion of 13th Street between the East line of the Right of Bayer the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway Co. to the West line of 8th Avenue be vacated and closed up. Moved by Edgerton, seconded by Fritz, that the matter be referred'to the Health & Morale Committee to report on at the next meet- ing. Carried. '•RESOLUTION OF AWARD NO. 833 For a One Ton: Truck with Dump Body, etc. was read. Moved by Fritz, eeoonded by Edgerton that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. Moved by Edgerton, seconded by Fritz, that the sum of $2000.00 be transferred from the Street Improvement Bond Fund of 1920 to the General Fund, and the Clerk and Treasurer be authorized to make the necessary entries upon their records. Carried. .Moved by Edgerton, seconded by Fritz, that the City Engineer prepare plane' and-epeoificatione for the paving of 8th Street from the present pavement to the East City Limits with Asphalt Macadam three inches thick.
