Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees called to
order by the President. Trustees present,— Cordingly,Boulette,
Edgerton, Snook and Hertel.
Minutes of regular meeting of January 3, 1922 read and
approved.
The following bills, audited by the Finance Committee
presented:

Moved by Goulette, seconded by Snook that bills be allowed
and warrants ordered drawn for the same. Carried, all Trustees
present voting aye.
Mr. Abbott was present and requested permission to trim
trees on 4th Avenue between 17th and 18th Streets. Moved by
Snook, seconded by "Boulette that the request be granted. Carried.
J. T.Bohnert requested permission to remove trees on 6th
Avenue and 19th Street. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by
Edgerton that request be granted. Carried.

•Mrs. Bradford requested permission to remove trees on
6th Street between G and Highland Avenues. Moved by
Goulette, seconded by Snook that request be granted. Carried.
-R. M.Harris requested permission to remove one tree on
First Street in front of his property. Moved by Snook,
seconded by Edgerton that the request be granted. Carried.
•Petition requesting that there be submitted to the voters
of the City at the earliest possible date'a bond issue for
paving, grading and sidewalking certain streets, was read.
Moved by Boulette, seconded by Edgerton that the petition be
accepted and filed. Carried.
Communication from H. Roe requesting exchange of Peddler's
License was read and the City Clerk was instructed to notify
him that change could not be made.
Communication from the Southwest Publishing Company noti—
fying the Trustees of an increase in rates for legal notices
beginning January 1, 1922, was read and ordered filed.
•Communication from the Southwest Publishing Company
regarding the possibilities of this community, was read.
Moved by Edgerton, seconded by Boulette, that it be accepted
and filed. Carried.
•Moved by Snook, seconded by Boulette that the Chamber of
Commerce be requested to tale up with the Street Car Company
the question of more frequent car service. Carried.
•The Quarterly Reports of the City Clerk and Treasurer
were presented and ordered filed.
The clerk informed the Trustees that he is in receipt of
a check from the State Compensation Insurance Fund amounting
to $55.04, final dividend, and that same had been deposited
with the City Treasurer.
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Snook that the City Clerk
notify James Burnham & Co.that the City does not want the
special bond of $100,000.00 for the City Treasurer renewed.
Carried.

-Bonds of W. C. Merritt & W. G. Willie as Master Plumbers
were presented. Moved by Edgerton, seconded by Boulette that
the Bonds be accepted, approved and ordered filed. Carried.
-Petition of Gustav Teufel to remove trees on 24th Street
and F Avenue was read. Moved by Snook, seconded by Edgerton
that the petition be granted. Carried.
Petition of W. A. Dearing to remove trees in front of
Lots 19 and 20, Block 42, McCoy's Sub. was read. Moved by
Snook, seconded by Cordingly that the petition be granted.
Carried.
Petition to have sidewalk conetructed on 9th Street in
front of Lots 22 and 23, Block 10, was read.
•Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Boulette that the Street
Superintendent be and he is hereby instructed to publish a
notice in The National City News for one week notifying owners
of property fronting on 9th Street from First Avenue to E Avenue
and Highland Avenue from Second Street to Eighth Street to con-
struct sidewalk and curb in front of their property at once by
private contract in order to save the large additional expense of
having same constructed by the City under the Vrooman Act and
the expense taxed against their property. Carried, all Trustees
present voting aye.
'Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Snook that the Salary of
the Health Officer be raised to $25.00 per month and that the
City Attorney be instructed to prepare an amendment to the
salary ordinance. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
Moved by Edgerton, seconded by Snook that the following
named citizens be appointed members of the Board of Health
for the ensuing year: Dr. Theo. F. Johnson, Raymond Hill,
A. B. Kimball, C. B. Ireland and L.E.C.Smith. Carried.
Moved by Edgerton, seconded by Snook that the City Clerk
be instructed to return check to the San Diego Consolidated Gas
& Electric Co. which accompanied their bid under date of
January 25, 1921. Carried.
