National City, Calif., May 23, 1922.
Adjourned meeting of the Board of Trustees called to
order by the President. Trustees present,— Addis, Boulette,
Fritz, Murray and Edgerton.
Minutes of regular meeting of May 16th, 1922 read
and approved.
Communication from the Olivewood Club expressing its
appreciation of courtesies extended at the recent Rose show,
was read and ordered filed.
'Moved by Murray, seconded by Fritz that the matter of
a street north from Arcadia to Sixth Street be referred to
the City Engineer. Carried.
,Telegram from Mayor Bacon of San Diego regarding the
development of the Colorado River Basin, was read.
'Application of J. Neville for the position of Electrical
Inspector was read and laid over.
'Resignation of C B. Ireland as Plumbing and Electrical
Inspector, was read. Moved by Fritz,teconded by Addis that
the resignation be accepted. Carried.
'Moved by Addis, seconded by Fritz that J. Neville be
appointed Electrical Inspector. Carried.
.Communication from Alfred Faulkner & Co. regarding an
audit of the books and records of the City of National City,
was read and ordered filed.
.Communication from the Pacific Telephone & Telegraph Co.
requesting permission to trim nineteen eucalyptus trees on
the East side of F Street between Sixth and Eighth Streets,
was read. Moved by Boulette, seconded by Fritz that the
request be granted provided they take the wood to the City
Barn. Carried.
.Communication frcm the San Diego Consolidated Gas & Elec.
Co. regarding the installation of 600 candle power lamp at
the intersection of Eighth Street and National Avenue,was read
and ordered filed.

.Communication from E. M. Wright, City Marshal regarding
Plight Watchman was read and referred to the Police Committee.
'Moved by Fritz, seconded by Murray that Eugene L.
Mg1colm be appointed Plumbing Inspector. Carried.
✓,RESOLUTION NO. 727 regarding the development of the
Lower Colorado River Basin and the proper protection there-
of, etc., was read. Moved by Addis, seconded by Boulette,
that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees pre-
sent voting aye.
•ORDINANCE NO. 514, Establishing the Grade of First
Street from National Avenue to a point 992.2 feet Easterly,
was placed on final passage, and on motion by Fritz, seconded
by Murray, same adopted all Trustees present voting aye.
• Moved by Boulette, seconded by t-ritz that the Sweetwater
Water Corporation be instructed to install a Fire Hydrant
at 18th Street and C Avenue and also one on Eighth -Street
330 feet Westerly from the Easterly City Limits. Carried,
all Trustees present voting aye.
'Moved by Boulette, seconded by Murray that the matter
of certain serer connections be referred to the City Engin-
eer. Carried.
•Moved by Boulette, seconded by Fritz that the City
Marshal notify the man having bees near Arcadia Street that
he must have them removed by the first of June, 1922. Carried.
Moved by Murray, seconded by Addis that the San Diego
Consolidated Gas & Elec. Co. be instructed to install a
Street Light of eixty Dandle power at a point 330 feet
Southerly from the center line of the intersection of 28th
Street and Highland Avenue. Carried.
Moved by Boulette, seconded by Fritz that the Board
adjourn. Carried.
