National City, Calif., Oct. 3, 1922.
Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees called to
order by the President. Trustees present,- Addis,Boulette,
Fritz, Murray and Edgerton.
Minutes of regular meeting of September 19,
and approved.
The following bills, audited by the Finanoe

Moved by Murray, eeconded by Fritz that the bille be
allowed and warrants ordered drawn for the same. Carried, all
Trustees present voting aye.
Moved by Murray, seconded by Addis that the matter of
the use of Fire Hall be the Christain Science Church be re-
ferred to the Fire Committee. Carried.
Moved by Fritz, seconded by Murray that the proposition
of a City Planning Commission be laid over to the firstmeet-
ing in November. Carried.

Communication from the National City Chamber of Com-
merce requesting that the Board of Trustees pay the expenses
incurred in establishing an exhibit at the County Fair held
September 20th to 24th, was read and ordered filed.
.Communication from the Municipal Band requesting the
use of National Avenue between 12th and 13th Streets on the
evening of October 7, 1922, was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded
by Addis that the request be granted. Carried.
Petition of citizens requesting two additional street
lights on Seventh Avenue was read and referred to the Fire
& later Committee.
Report of the Recorder for the month of September, 1922
was presented and ordered filed.
.Moved by Addis, seconded by Goulette that the City Clerk
be instructed to write Fire Chief Almgren of San Diego ex-
tending a vote of thanks for use of fire truck. Carded.
•The Finance Committee reported they would recommend that
the request of G.A.Bushert for an increase in wages be de-
nied. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Goulette that the report
of the Finance Committee be accepted. Carried.
Moved by Fritz, seconded by roulette that the City Clerk
notify Mr. G. C.Cheney that nothing can be done regarding
drainage until the street is graded. Carried.
ORDINANCE NO. 518 Providing Payment for Leader of
Municipal Band and creating the office, was placed on final
passage, and on motion by Fritz, seconded by Goulette, same
adopted, all Trustees present voting aye.
Moved by Murray , eeconded by Goulette that the City
Attorney be instructed to draw an ordinance regulating the
construotion of buildings. Carried.
ORDINANCE NO. An Ordinance Declaring old Buildings,
etc. to be a public nuisance and providing for the abatement
of same, was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Murray that it
be introduced and laid over under the rules and according to
law. Carried.

Moved by Frits, seconded by Murray that the Street
Superintendent be and he is hereby inetruoted to notify
the Sweetwater Water Corporation to immediately fill in
the ditches on E Avenue between 3rd and 4th Streets and
an -Fourth Street between D and E Avenues, caused by the
broken water pipes of said Company, and in the future to
immediately repair all streets washed out by reason of
broken pipes and restore same to same condition they were
in before the breaks *enured. Carried.
Moved by Roulette, seconded by Fritz, that the Board
adjourn. Carried.
