Trustees present,- Cordingly, Boulette, Edgerton, Snook and Hertel. Minutes of adjourned meeting of November 29th, 1921 read and approved. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. 'Mr. C.H.Arndt was present and requested permission to lay water pipe on 22nd Street from Highland Avenue to J.Avenue. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Snook that the petition be granted. Carried. Moved by Edgerton, seconded by Boulette that Mr.L. May be allowed to trim four trees on 14th Street & 4th Ave. Carried. / no. Communication from Mr. A. A.Jerauld offering the sum of $25.00 in full settlement for delinquent taxes on certain property, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Edgerton that the City Clerk notify Mr. A.A.Jerauld that the City cannot accept $25.00 in full for taxes due on the property described by him in his communication to this Board November 20, 1921, for the reason that said property has been sold by the City for the taxes therein named, and certificates issued to the various purchasers thereof. Said taxes are really due said individuals instead of the City, and therefor the City is hot in a position to compromise same. Carried. Communication from the Southern branch, League of California Municipalities, Alhambra, regarding the meeting at Riverside, December 8 to:10th inclusive, was read and ordered filed. Communication from the Chamber of Commeroe regarding applications for support, etc. was read and taken under ad— visement. Communication from the Chamber of Commerce with a report of the Committee on Municipal Improvement attached, was read. Moved by Edgerton, seconded by Snook that it be referred to the Street Committee. Carried. Report of the Recorder for the month of November, 1921, was read and ordered filed. Report of the City Engineer on the bide for the grading of Twenty Fourth Street, was read and ordered filed. / RESOLUTION OF AWARD NO. 695, For the Grading of Twenty Fourth Street, Highland Avenue to Sixth Avenue, to H.G.Fenton, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Snook that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. Moved by Boulette, seootded by Cordingly that Resolution of Award No. 695 be approved. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. ORDINANCE NO. 512 Regulating the use of pertain streets for trucking purposes, was placed on final passage and on motion by Snook, seconded by Edgerton, same adopted, all Trueteee present voting aye. The City Attorney reported regarding the petition of J. A. Rice for payment of $2.21, filed March 32, 1921, that in his opinion the claim was not a legal one. Moved by Boulette, seconded by Cordingly, that the claim of J.A.Rice be denied. Carried. Moved by Edgerton, seconded by Boulette, that the City Marshal be and he is hereby empowered, until the further orders of this Board, to employ another Deputy Marshal for not to exceed six hours on each Sunday and Saturday and legal Hollidaye, at a salary of not to exceed $1.50 per hour while actually at work, said Deputy to furnish good motoroyole, keep same in repair, and pay for all gasoline ueed while on duty. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. Moved by Snook, seconded by Cordingly, that the Board adjourn. Carried.
