National City, Calif. Jan. 25, 1921.
Adjourned meeting of the Board of Trustees called
to order by the President. Trustees present,- Cordingly,
Boulette, Edgerton, Snook and Hertel.
Minute3of regular meeting of January 18, 1921 read
and approved.
The following bill, audited by the Finance Committee
presented:
The National City News Printing $175.68
Moved by Boulette, seconded by Snook that the bill be
allowed and warrant ordered drawn for the same. Carried,
all Trustees present voting aye.
Communication from F. B. Merjiam presented and
ordered filed.
•Communication from the National City Firemene Club,
was read. Moved by Edgerton, seconded by Boulette that it
be referred to the "[later Supply & Fire Department Committee.
Carried.
Petition of Joseph S. Smith to install gasoline tank
and pump, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Snook
that petition be granted. Carried.
Petition of C. W. Bower, as Agent, to remove trees,
was read. Moved by Snook, seconded by Cordingly that the
petition be granted. Carried.
•Petition of D. E. Lazier to plant ornamental trees,
also to lay sidewalk, was read. Moved by Snook, seconded
by Boulette that petition be granted. Carried.
•Petition of W. L. Cagle to move Pool Hall, install
one more table and that the name of Mr. Martina be dropped
as partner, was read. Moved by Snook, seconded by Boulette
that the petition be granted. Carried.

.Bond of F. M. Chase as Plumber, was presented. Moved
by Cordingly, seconded by Edgerton that the bond be approved
and ordered filed. Carried.
.Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Snook that the San
Diego Consolidated Gas & Electric Company be allowed to
trim eucaly_ctus and pepper trees in streets where they
interfere with its wires. Carried.
Communication of E. W. Haseltine, regarding protest of
Sewer System, was read.
-The following bid received for a franchise to erect,
lay, operate and maintain gas pipes and Conduit, also poles,
wires, etc. for transmitting gas and electricity for heat
and power: San Diego Consolidated Gas & Electric Co. .$75.00.
Moved by Snook, seconded by Cordingly, that the bid be
referred to the City Attorney. Carried.
Moved by Boulette, seconded by Edgerton that the City
Engineer be instructed to get out plans and specifications
for the paving of Eighth Street from National Avenue to
Highland Avenue and Highland Avenue from Eighth Street to
the North City Limits. Carried.
The hour of eight o'clock having arrived, a hearing
was had pursuant to notice, on the protest, objection and
remonstrance of E. W. Haseltine, dated January 18, 1921,
in the matter of Sanitary Sewer District No. 1.
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Snook that the hearing
of E. W.Haseltine in the matter df the Sanitary Sewer
System in District No. 1, be continued to January 26, 1921',
at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Carried.
Moved by Edgerton, seconded by Cordingly, that the
Street Superintendent be instructed to go tomorrow with
Mr. Haseltine and oversee the digging of the holes in
Sewer Trench on First Street in front of Mr. Haseltine's
property. Carried.

Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Snook that the Board
ad-journ to Wednesday, January 26, 1912, at 7:30 o'clock
P.M. Carried.
