Trustees present,- Cordingly, Boulette, Edgerton, Snook and Hertel. Minutes of adjourned meeting of May 31, 1921 read and approved. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. Moved by Boulette, seconded byCordingly that Judge Smith of Chula Vista be paid the sum of $100.00 in full of his fees for assisting and representing the City of National City in the hearing before the Railroad Commission on the application of the Sweetwater Water Corporation for a raise in water rates. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. 73. iThe following bids received for paving certain streets: John Engebretson: Portland Cement Concrete Pavement four inches thick, per square foot 31 cents Portland Cement Conorete Pavement five inches thick, per square foot 23 cents Excavation per cubic yard 65 cents Embankment per cubic yard 10 cents Wire mesh reinforcing per square foot 4 cents Fairchild —Gilmore —Wilton —Co: - Portland Cement Concrete Pavement four inches think, per square foot 18 cents Portland Cement Concrete Pavement five inches thick, per square foot ..20 cents Excavation per cubic yard 50 cents Embankment per cubic yard 5 cents Wire mesh reinforcing per square foot 5 oents - Moved by Edgerton, seconded by Snook that the bids tv referred to the City Engineer. Carried. \Application of G.M. Cross for Motorcycle officer, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Snook that the appli— cation be filed. Carried. Communication from the Trustees of the Library requesting the reappointment of Dr. E.S.Hill and Mrs. S.H.Boal, for the term beginning July 1, 1921 was read and laid over until the next meeting. Application of C. P.Hi11e for license as Sidewalk Builder, Bond accompanying application, was read. Moved by Snook, seconded by Cordingly that the application of C. P. Hi11e for license as Sidewalk Builder be granted and his bond be accepted and approved. Carried. Vietti " 10.55 members of the Fire Department, whose terms expired June 2, 1921 under Ordinance No. 507, be paid. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. Moved by Snook, seconded by Cordingly that the petition of Jose Garcia to remove trees be granted. Carried. ,, RESOLUTION NO. 652, Directing Clerk to Public Ordinance No. 508, regulating travel and traffic was read. Moved by Edgerton, seconded by Snook that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. Report of the City Engineer on the bids received for paving, was read. J. RESOLUTION OF AWARD NO. 653, for Paving and Grading certain streets, to Fairchild -Gilmore -Wilton -Co. was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Snook that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. Report of the City Engineer, with approval of Superinten dent of Streets, showing estimate of work completed to June 1, 1921 by Fairchild -Gilmore -Wilton -Co. for paving, grading and constructing culverts on certain streets, amounting to $4306.13 and showing that 75% of the above,amounting to $3229.60 was due them, was read. J•RESOL'JTION N0. 654 Approving Estimate of the City Engineer and authorizing the proper officers of the City to dran a warrant in favor of Fairchild -Gilmore -Wilton -Co. in the sum of $3229.60, on the Municipal Street Improvement Bond Fund of 1920, was read. Moved by Boulette, seconded by Cordingly, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. Moved by Edgerton, seconded by Snook that the Board adjourn. Carried.
