National City, Calif. May 25, 1920.
Adjourned meeting of the Board of Trustees called
CO order by the President. Trustees present,- lordingly,
Boulette, Edgerton, Snook and Hertel.
Minutes of regular meeting of May 18, 1920 read and
approved.
Petition of Annie E. & Acil M. Bushert to remove six
eucalyptus trees, same to be replaced with palms, was read.
Moved by Snook, seconded by Edgerton that the petition be
granted. Carried.
-Report of the City Engineer, recommending acceptance
of Bid of R. H. Downer for the construction of the Sewer
System in Sanitary Sewer District No. 1, was read and ordered
filed.
Resolution of Award No. 595, Sanitary Sewer District
No. 1, rejecting all bids except that of R. H. Downer and
awarding contract for said work to R. H. Downer at the price
specified in his bid for the total sum of $94,250.00, was
read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Edgerton that the
Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting
aye.
Moved by Boulette, seconded by Cordingly that the
Resolution of Award be approved by the Board of Trustees,
Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.\
✓ Resolution No. 596, rescinding the action of the Board
of Trustees at a regular meeting on the 18th day of May, 1920,
introducing an Ordinance calling a special election to be held
on the 22nd day of June, 1920, submitting to the voters the
proposition of incurring a bonded debt in the sum of
$180,000.00 for certain municipal improvements, etc., was
read. Moved by Snook, seconded by Cordingly that the Resolu-
tion be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.

Ordinance No. £n Ordinance Calling a Special
Election to be held on the 7th day of July, 1920, submitting
to the voters the proposition of incurring a bonded debt in
the sum of $180,000.00 for the acquisition of a certain
municipal improvement,designating the election precinct and
polling place, and appointing election officers for such
election and fixing their compensation, was read. Moved by
Snook, seconded by Boulette that it be introduced and laid
over under the rules and as required by law. Carried.
,Ordinance No. Amending Section 7 of Ordinance No.
497, Fixing the Compensation of the City Recorder, was read.
Moved by Cardingly, seconded by Boulette that it be introduced
and laid over under the rules and as reouired by law. Carried.
Moved by Cordirgly, seconded by Boulette that the City
Engineer be instructed to get bids on plastering tne Fire
Hall. Carried.
Moved by Boulette; seconded by Edgerton, that the
Editor of the National City News be allowed $12.00 per month
for publisning the proceedings of the Board of Trustees.
Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
Moved by Snook, seconded by Edgerton that the Board
ad3ourn. Carried.
