HomeMy WebLinkAbout1920 09-21 CC MIN13. National City, Calif. Sept. 21, 1920. Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees called to order by the President. Trustees present,- Cordingly, Boulette, Edgerton, Snook and Hertel. Minutes of regular meeting of Sept. 7, 1920 read and approved. The following bills, audited by the ,Finance Committee presented: Denrich Prees Bud Briggs D. V.McKenzie Printing Bonds $112.70 St.Dept. Labor 52.00 n n 62.00 Total $226.70 Moved by Edgerton, seconded by Boulette that the bills be allowed and warrants ordered drawn for the same. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. Mr. R.G. Stewart was present and requested permission to remove Cypress tree in front of his residence. Moved by Snook, seconded by Cordingly that petition be granted. Carried. Mr. H. A. Hebard requested permission to remove three eucalyptt's trees on 7th Street and F.Avenue. Moved by Boulette, seconded by Edgerton that petition be granted. Carried. Mr. I. S. Surber requested permission to remove five egoalyptus trees between E and F Avenues on 16thstreet, same to be replaced by -Black Acacia. Moved by Snook, seconded by Cordingly that the petition be granted. Carried. Petition of D. E. Lozier to install an electric line across Norton Avenue as a private lighting line for C. A.Blecha was read. Moved by Edgerton, seconded by Snook that the petition be granted. Carried. It now being eight o'clock, the hour set for the opening of the bide on Street Improvement Bonds, the members of the Board were informed by the City Clerk that no bide had been received. 14. 'Petition of the Independent Stage Line for permission to operate an Automobile Stage line through the City of National City, was read. Moved by Edgerton, seconded by Boulette that the petition be granted. Carried. ing /' Resolution No. 604, Order/the Closing up of a portion of L. Avenue between 6th and 8th Streets, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Snook that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Boulette that the sum of $1748.15 be transferred from the General Fund to the Salary Fund and the Clerk and Treasurer be instructed to make the necessary entries upon their records. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. Ordinance No. Fixing the Rate and Levying the Taxes for the Fiscal Year 1920-1921, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Edgerton that it be introduced and laid over under the rules and according to lair. Carried. 'Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Boulette that the request of W. L. Russell for an increase of salary be denied. Carried by the following vote: Ayes,— Trustees Cordingly, Boulette and Snook. Mayes, —Trustees Edgerton and Hertel. Moved by Edgerton, seconded by-Cordingly that the Board adjourn to Tuesday, September 28, 1920 at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Carried.
