HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC ORD 1992-2045 Amends § 11.16.010(B), (C), (D) and (E), speed zones (11.16)ORDINANCE NO. 9 2 - 2 0 4 5 AN URGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY AMENDING ORDINANCE NOS. 92-2043, 1963, 1960, AND 1931 AND SUBSECTIONS (B), (C), (D) AND (E) OF SECTION 11.16.010 (SPEED ZONES DESIGNATED) OF THE NATIONAL CITY MUNICIPAL CODE ESTABLISHING SPEED ZONES OF VARIOUS STREETS WHEREAS, Section 22357 of the Vehicle Code of the State of California permits local authorities to establish speed limits greater than the prima facie limit MPH when, on the basis of an engineering and traffic survey,the l of 25 ty determines that a speed greater than 25 MPH would facilitate the orderlocal author o vehicular traffic and would be reasonable and safe; and y movement of WHEREAS, the City of National City has made an engineering and traffic survey of certain City streets and desires to establish speed limits greater than 25 MP H. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the Cit of National City, California, as follows: Y Section 1. That Section 11.16.010(B) (Speed Zones Designated)of the National City Municipal Code and Ordinance Nos. 92-2043, 1963, 19 hereby amended to read as follows: 60, and 1931 are B. Thirty miles per hour is declared and established as the prima facie speed limit on the following streets: 1. Eighth Street from National City Boulevard to Highland Avenue. g 2. Sixteenth Street from Highland Avenue to Palm Avenue. 3. Sixteenth Street from Euclid Avenue to Eastern City Limit. 4. "D" Avenue from Division Street to Eighteenth Street. 5.
