AN URGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY /
AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE IN SEWER RATES t THIN THE
CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, AND
RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 92 ; 41
WHEREAS, the City of San Diego Met • Sewer System charges for
transportation and treatment of sewage is projected to crease substantially for the FY
1994-1995 fiscal year, and for future years; and
WHEREAS, the current sewer rate i inadequate to cover said increase in
sewage collection, transportation and treatment c 'a sts; and
WHEREAS, the Sewer Fund is s lf-supporting and does not participate in
general funding for the city; and
WHEREAS, Section 5471 . f the California Health and Safety Code
provides that the City Council may, by •, dinance, revise said sewer charges; and
WHEREAS, it is necess -, ry for the preservation of the public health and
safety for sewer service charges to b - increased effective July 1, 1994, in order to meet
the increased charges for Metro Se er System for the 1994-1995 fiscal year.
NOW, THEREFO ' % , BE IT ORDAINED that the City Council of National
City hereby finds that an increas in fees to users of the National City sewer system is
necessary, effective July 1, 19 4, to allow the city to meet the city's costs for the
collection, transportation and t eatment of sewage.
BE IT FURTH : R ORDAINED that the City Council of the City of National
City authorizes and establis es a new sewer rate as follows, effective July 1, 1994.
Single-family $16.58 per month
Multi -family $15.42 per unit per month
Mobile Home $9.75 per unit per month
Commercial/I dustrial - the rate is based upon 100 cubic feet (HCF) of
water deliver cY, and upon suspended solids content of the effluent, subject
to a minimum charge equal to the lowest family accommodations rate
(mobile home), of $9.75/month.

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that this ordinance is adopted as an urgency
ordinance necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health and safety within
the meaning of the California Government Code and shall take effect immediately.
