HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC ORD 1995-2089 Councilmember, mayor and community development commission member and chairman salaries (Not codified)ORDINANCE NO. 9 5- 2 0 8 9 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY ESTABLISHING THE SALARIES OF THE MAYOR, THE CITY COUNCIL, AND OF THE CHAIRMAN AND MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION follows: BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of National City as Section 1. That pursuant to the provisions of Sections 36516 and 36516.5 of the California Government Code, the base monthly salary for the City Council shall be increased by the same percentages, on the same dates, and subject to the same conditions, as the salary increases for Municipal Employees' Association members, as set forth in the attached Exhibit "A." Section 2. That pursuant to the provisions of Section 36516.1 of the Government Code, the base monthly salary for the Mayor shall be increased by the same percentages, on the same dates, and subject to the same conditions, as the salary increases for Municipal Employees' Association members, as set forth in the attached Exhibit "A." Section 3. That pursuant to the provisions of Section 34130 of the Health and Safety Code, the base monthly salary for the Chairman and each member of the Community Development Commission shall be increased by the same percentages, on the same dates, and subject to the same conditions, as the salary increases for Municipal Employees' Association members, as set forth in the attached Exhibit "A." Waters, Mayor SUMMARY OF CONTRACT CHANGES MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES' ASSOCIATION FISCAL YEAR 1994-97 The MEA membership has voted to accept the Memoranda of Understanding negotiated between the City and the MEA for Fis cal Year 1994-1997. This agreement is summarized below: A. Three (3) year agreement. B. Three (3%) percent restoration of salary in first pay period of September, 1994. Restoration of salary to 92-93 level in first pay period of January 1995. Three (3%) percent conditional salary increase in first pay period of September, 1995. Five (5%) percent salary increase in first pay period of July, 1996. C. Four (4) paid furlough days between Christmas and New Year, 1994 only. ID. Health Benefit continuation for 45 days for leaves of absences, instead of 30 days. E. Maximum sick leave accrual increased from 240 hours to 256 hours. F. Improved Sick Leave Incentive for employees who do not use sick leave. G. Overtime paid only after 40 hours worked and pre -approved leave and special events. p H. optional health coverage with cash -in -lieu benefit. Re -open this benefit if unreserved and undesignated fund balances exceed one million. 1. Time for representation duties may be working hours under certain conditions. J. Furlough banked hours have no cash value but may be used as time off. (Dispatcher Exception) K. Six (6) division supervisors removed from this group and placed in new mid - management supervisors' group (informal group).
