HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC ORD 1995-2100 Amends § 1.20.010(A), general penalty (1.20)ORDINANCE NO. 95-2100 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 1883, AND SECTION 1.20.010 (A) OF THE NATIONAL CITY MUNICIPAL CODE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of National City that Section 1 of Ordinance No. 1883 and Section 1.20.010(A) of the National City Municipal Code are hereby amended to read as follows: 1.20.010 Designated --Applicability. A. Any person violating any of the provisions or failing to comply with any of the mandatory requirements of the ordinances of the city shall be guilty of an infraction, unless by ordinance such violation or failure to comply is made a misdemeanor, and provided that the City Attorney, in his/her discretion, may upgrade an infraction to a misdemeanor. An infraction is punishable by (1) a fine not exceeding one hundred dollars for a first violation; (2) a fine not exceeding two hundred dollars for a second violation of the same ordinance within one year; (3) a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars for each additional violation of the same ordinance within one year. A misdemeanor is punishable by a fine not exceeding one thousand dollars, or by imprisonment not to exceed six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
