AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY
AMENDING TITLE 6 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE,
BUSINESS LICENSES AND REGULATIONS
The City Council of the City of National City,
California, does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. There is hereby added to the Municipal
Code of the City of National City, Sections 6.12.140 (B) ,
6.30.020, 6.50.020, 6.50.030, 6.50.040 and 6.50.050, which
are to read as follows:
Chapter 6.12, FEES --COMPUTATION AND PAYMENT
6.12.140 License fees based on business vehicles.
B. In any case where the license fee is based upon
the number of vehicles used by the application to carry on his
business in National City, the applicant shall at time of ap-
plication for renewal of his license file with the city treas-
urer a written statement setting forth the number of vehicles
used in the conduct of his business in National City during the
previous license period. Such fee shall not be construed to be
a license fee upon each individual vehicle but the number of
vehicles used on any day is the measure of the amount of the
tax to be paid.
Chapter 6.30, DANCE HALLS
6.30.020 License fee --Liquor establishment. Every person con-
ducting, managing or carrying on, maintaining or assisting in
the carrying on, maintaining or conducting of any public dance
hall or public dances in connection with any business or at any
place wherein intoxicating liquor is sold or served in any room,
place or space, shall pay a license fee determined as follows:
A. The sum of one hundred twenty-five dollars
per quarter where there is daily or nightly
dancing and the sale of alcoholic beverages
equals or exceeds the sale of food;
B. The sum of seventy-five dollars per quarter
where there is daily or nightly dancing, and
the sale of food exceeds the sale of alcoholic
beverages;
C. The sum of fifty dollars per quarter where
there is dancing on not to exceed three days
or nights in any calendar week;
D. The sum of thirty dollars where dancing is
not regularly conducted but occurs only oc-
casionally or by special arrangement.
The license fee herein in this section specified
is in addition to all other licenses due and payable the city of
National City.
Chapter 6.50, IDENTIFICATION CARDS
6.50.020 Application. Each person as defined shall make appli-
cation therefor with the city treasurer. Each application shall
be accompanied by the sum of five dollars to cover the expenses
incurred in the issuance of the card, and no refund shall be
made for any reason. The applicant shall also file with his ap-
plication three recent photographs (size 1" x 1"), two to be
filed with his application and one to be attached to his identi-
fication card.
6.50.030 Fingerprinting --Investigation. Each applicant shall
be fingerprinted by the police department. A record investi-
gation shall then -be made. Identification cards shall be refused
to any person convicted of a crime of a nature to indicate to
the chief of police that the pursuit of the regulated business
by the applicant would endanger the health, safety or morals of
the community.
6.50.040 Issuance refusal --Appeal. An applicant may appeal to
the city council a refusal by the chief of police to issue an I.D.
card. The appeal shall be made within ten days of the refusal to
license by filing a written notice of appeal

6.50.050 Violation --Misdemeanor. No person

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance was not finally adopted
until seven calendar days had elapsed between the days of its introduction
and the days of its final passage, to wit, on July 18, 1978
and on
July 25„ 1978
I FURTHER CERTIFY THAT said ordinance was read in full prior to its
final passage or that the reading of said ordinance in full was dispensed
with by a vote of not less than a majority of the members elected to the
Council and that there was available for the consideration of each mem-
ber of the Council and the public prior to the day of its passage a written
or printed copy of said ordinance.
