HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC ORD 1977-1565 Rezone (Special)ORDINANCE NO. 1565 AN ORDINANCE PURSUANT TO THE LAND USE CODE OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA (ZC-12-76, to rezone 18 school, institutional, park, and open space areas by using previously unused zones and symbols provided for in the new Land Use Code) WHEREAS, pursuant to the terms and provisions of the Government Code of California, proceedings were duly initiated for the rezoning of those parcels of real property hereinafter described, and for the amendment of the Land Use Code of the City of National City, and WHEREAS, pursuant to due and legal notice, hearings were held by the City Planning Commission of said City and also by the City Council of said City, and all persons interested were given opportunity to appear and be heard before said Planning Commission and said City Council, and WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of National City has regularly and duly certified to the City Council its report and has recommended such rezoning and such amend- ment; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of National City, California does ordain as follows: SECTION 1. All protests, if any, against said rezoning and said amendment to the Land Use Code, and each of them, be and hereby are denied and overruled. SECTION 2. That the below described properties are rezoned as indicated in each item A through R. Items Items A two, B, C, G, and P are further described by exhibit maps with corresponding legal descriptions. Items A one, D, E, F, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, 0, Q, and R are further described on one exhibit map. The exhibit maps and legal descriptions have been and are now on file in the office of the Clerk of the City of National City as Document Numbers 59424 . 59425 , 59426 59427 , 59428 , and 59429 , and the same are hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein; A. To rezone the El Toyon Elementary School property and El Toyon Park from RS-2-OS (Residential Single Family -Open Space) to IC -OS (Institutional Civic Open Space) and the California -American Water Company property at the southwest corner of El Toyon Elementary School from RS-2-OS (Residential Single Family -Open Space) to IP (Institutional Private) . B. To rezone the Paradise Valley Hospital property between 4th and 8th Streets from CL (Limited Commercial) to IP (Institutional Private) . C. To rezone the Seventh Day Adventist San Diego Academy property fronting on 4th Street from RT (Residential Two Family) to IP (Institutional Private). D. To rezone the Ira Harbison Elementary School property from RS-2-OS (Residential Single Family - Open Space) to IC -OS (Institutional Civic -Open Space) . E. To rezone the Civic Center, Community Building, Public Library, and Kimball Park properties from CBD-OS-RD (Commercial, Central Business District -Open Space -Redevelopment) and CG-OS-RE (General Commercial -Open Space -Redevelopment) to IC-OS-RD (Institutional Civic -Open Space - Redevelopment). F. To rezone the Central Elementary School property from CBD-OS (Commercial, Central Business District - Open Space) to IC -OS (Institutional Civic -Open Space), except therefrom Assessor's Parcels 556-452-02 and 556-460-24. G. To rezone the Friendship Manor Convalescent Home from CL (Limited Commercial) to IP (Insti- tutional Private) . H. To rezone the Palmer Way Elementary School property from RT-OS (Residential Two Family -Open Space) and RS-2-OS (Residential Single Family - Open Space) to IC -OS (Institutional Civic -Open Space), except therefrom Assessor's Parcel 558- 140-07. I. To rezone the Kimball Elementary School property from ML-OS (Manufacturing Light -Open Space) to IC -OS (Institutional Civic -Open Space). J. To rezone the National City Junior High School property from RM-1-OS (Residential Multiple Family - Open Space) to IC -OS (Institutional Civic -Open Space) . K. To rezone the Las Palmas Elementary School and Las Palmas Park properties from RM-1-OS (Residential Multiple Family -Open Space) and RS-2-OS (Residential Single Family -Open Space) to IC -OS (Institutional Civic -Open Space) and from RS-2-FP-OS (Residential Single Family -Flood Plain -Open Space) to IC -FP -OS (Institutional Civic -Flood Plain -Open Space). L. To rezone the Lincoln Acres Elementary School from RT-OS (Residential Two Family -Open Space) to IC -OS (Institutional Civic -Open Space). M. To rezone the Granger Junior High School property from RT-OS (Residential Two Family -Open Space) to IC -OS (Institutional Civic -Open Space) . N. To rezone the Olivewood Elementary School and Sweetwater High School from RM-1 (Residential Multiple Family), RM-1-OS (Residential Multiple Family -Open Space) , and CBD-OS (Commercial, Central Business District -Open Space) to IC -OS (Institutional Civic -Open Space). O. To rezone the Sweetwater Heights Park property from OS (Open Space) to IC -OS (Institutional Civic -Open Space) . ATTEST: P. To rezone the National School District Administration Center property bounded by 14th and 16th Streets and "M" and "N" Avenues from RM-1 (Residential Multiple Family) to IC (Institutional Civic). R. To rezone the City -owned tot lot on the west side of "Q" Avenue in the 1500 block from RM-1 (Residential Multiple Family) to IC -OS (Institutional Civic -Open Space) . PASSED AND ADOPTED this 12th day of April 1977.
