AN ORDINANCE PURSUANT TO THE LAND USE CODE OF THE
CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA
(ZC-18-77, to rezone from ML [Manufacturing Light] to
CH [Commercial Heavy] the westerly 125 feet of the Brown
Motors auto dealership and the westerly 115 feet of the
city block bounded by 16th Street, National Avenue and
West avenue)
WHEREAS, pursuant to the terms and provisions
of the Government Code of California, proceedings were
duly initiated for the rezoning of those parcels of real
property hereinafter described, and for the amendment of
the Land Use Code of the City of National City, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to due and legal notice, hear -
were held by the City Planning Commission of said
City and also by the City Council of said City, and all
persons interested were given opportunity to appear and
be heard before said Planning Commission and said City
Council, and
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of National
City has regularly and duly certified to the City Council
its report and has recommended such rezoning and such amend-
ment;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
National City, California does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. All protests, if any, against said
rezoning and said amendment to the Land Use Code, and each
of them, be and hereby are denied and overruled.
SECTION 2. That all the below described real
property now zoned ML (Manufacturing Light) is by this
Ordinance rezoned to CH (Commercial Heavy) the westerly
125 feet of the Brown Motors auto dealership and the
westerly 115 feet of the city block bounded by 16th Street,
National Avenue and West Avenue:
That portion of Lots 1 through and including Lot
8 in Block 17, including the Westerly Half of the
closed alley lying adjacent to said lots, being a
strip of land 10 feet in width; also all that portion
of Lots 1 through and including Lot 10 in Block 18,
including the Westerly Half of the closed alley lying
adjacent to said last mentioned lots (closed by
Resolution No. 1197, adopted by the Board of Trustees
of the City of National City, December 6, 1927),
being a strip of land 10 feet in width, including
the Southerly Half of closed 17th Street, lying
adjacement to the Northerly line of said Lot 1,
Block 18 and extending Westerly to the centerline
of Roosevelt Avenue (formerly First Street) , being
a strip of land 40 feet in width, all per Map of
National City, Number 348, on file in the Office
of the County Recorder of San Diego County,
California, October 2, 1882. EXCEPTING THEREFROM
all of West Avenue, as said West Avenue is described
in deed recorded in Book 1263 page 269 of Deed
Records.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 8th day of November,
1977.

until seven calendar days had elapsed between the days of its introduction
and the days of its final passage, to wit, on November 1, 1977
and on
November 8, 1977
I FURTHER CERTIFY THAT said ordinance was read in full prior to its
final passage or that the reading of said ordinance in full was dispensed
with by a vote of not less than a majority of the members elected to the
Council and that there was available for the consideration of each mem-
ber of the Council and the public prior to the day of its passage a written
or printed copy of said ordinance.
I FURTHER CERTIFY that the above and foregoing is a full, true and cor-
rect copy of ORDINANCE NO. 1603 of the City of National City, passed
