HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC ORD 1976-1500 Adopts specific plan for five-foot front yard setback (Special)1500 ORDINANCE NO. 1500 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISH- ING A SPECIFIC PLAN PRO- VIDING FOR THE CON- TINUANCE OF A 5 FOOT FRONT YARD SETBACK IN THE C-3-ZONE, A 0 FOOT FRONT YARD SETBACK IN THE C-3-C ZONE AND A MINIMUM 10 FOOT YARD SETBACK ALONG THE HIGHLAND AVENUE SIDE OF ALL PROPERTIES ABUTTING HIGHLAND AVENUE WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of National City, on January 12, 1976, recommended to the City Council the adoption of a Specific Plan to provide for the continuance of a 5-foot front yard setback in the C-3-B Zone, a 0 foot front yard setback in the C-3-C Zone and a minimum 10 foot yard setback along the Highland Avenue side of all properties abutting Highland Avenue, and WHEREAS, the City Council of National City, on February 17, 1976, conducted a public hearing to consider the recommendation of the Planning Commission, and WHEREAS, at said public hearing all interested persons were given opportunity to appear and be heard before the said City Council, and WHEREAS, the City Council, at their meeting of February 17, 1976, did give first reading of an Ordinance for the adoption of the proposed National City Land Use Code, and WHEREAS, said Land Use Code does consolidate the existing C-3-A, C-3-B, and C-3-C (General Commercial) Zones into a single new CBD (Central Business District) Zone, and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is in the interest of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of National City to continue the front yard setbacks in the C-3-B and C-3-C Zones and to continue the setback along the Highland Avenue side of all properties abutting Highland Avenue, and WHEREAS, the Land Use Code provides for the continuation of the front yard setbacks in the C-3- B and C-3-C Zones and for the continuation of the setback along the Highland Avenue side of all properties abutting Highland Avenue by adoption of a Specific Plan, and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that said Specific Plan will be necessary and convenient to the implementation of the General Plan, and WHEREAS, the City Council has approved the recom- mendation of the City Planning Commission; ATTEST: lone M. Continuance of a zero (0) foot front yard setback on all properties zoned C-3-C that are expected to become a parr of the new CBD Zone.
