HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC ORD 1975-1464 Amends §§ 3(N) (3) and 3(N) (6) (a) of Ord. 962, zoning (Repealed by 1503)1464 ORDINANCE NO. 1464 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 962, AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 1315, NATIONAL CITY SIGN ORDINANCE, TO ALLOW POLITICAL SIGNS TO BE POSTED A MAXIMUM OF 60 DAYS PRIOR TO AN ELECTION AND 14 DAYS FOLLOWING AN ELECTION; AND, TO ALLOW THAT A LAWFUL NON- CONFORMING "ROOF MOUNTED” SIGN MAY BE STRUCTURALLY ALTERED TO REDUCE ITS SIZE AND/OR COPY AREA BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of National City that Section 3-N-3, Paragraph g, Sub- paragraph 3, is hereby amended to read as follows: (3) All such signs may be posted a maximum of 60 days prior to an election and 14 days following an election. In no case shall a sign be posted in excess of 74 days. (A political sign is herein defined as any sign advertising or display- ing in any manner information per- taining to a political or quasi - political office) ; BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of National City that Section 3-N-6, Paragraph a, is hereby amended to read as follows: a. NONCONFORMING SIGNS SHALL BE REMOVED OR MADE CON- FORMING WHEN THE BUSINESS OR PROPERTY CHANGES OC- CUPANCY OR OWNERSHIP. How- ever, a lawful nonconforming "roof mounted" sign, when in compliance with all building and safety regula- tions may have the copy thereon changed or be structurally altered to reduce its size and/or copy area. Such alteration shall not increase the height above the building contribute to wind or dead loadin upon the supporting structure. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 13th day of May, 1975.
